Assoc. Prof. Karolina Siskova, Ph.D. has been working in the field of nanocomposite syntheses and their environmental and bio-applications for almost two decades. She received her double degree PhD in a cotutelle French–Czech program in 2006. In 2008-2009, she undertook her postdoc in the USA at the University of California at Santa Barbara, under the Fulbright grant. Then, she moved to the Faculty of Science, Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic, where she established her own research team. So far, she has supervised fifteen diploma theses and co-supervised four PhD students. Currently, she is the supervisor of two PhD students and three students of diploma theses. She has gained several national and international certificates and awards as an author and/or editor, e.g. from the Spectroscopic Society of J.J.Marci, Fulbright Committee, American Chemical Society (ACS), Singapore Surface Engineering Association, as a reviewer of Science of the Total Environment, ACS, Nanomaterials and Materials. In 2019–2023, she served as a guest editor of two Special Issues of Nanomaterials. Currently, she is the topic editor within selected MDPI journals (Nanomaterials, IJMS, Polymers, Materials).
