Background/Objectives: Colorectal cancer (CRC) has high prevalence and mortality, with a high frequency of malnutrition during chemotherapy (60–70%). Malnutrition reduces treatment tolerance, quality of life, and survival. The Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is effective in detecting it, but its use is not systematic. This study aims to analyze the prevalence and degrees of malnutrition in CRC patients undergoing active chemotherapy, using the PG-SGA, and to propose its systematic implementation in oncology care protocols. Methods: Observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive study in patients with stage III–IV CRC receiving FOLFOX, XELOX, or irinotecan regimens. Nutritional status was assessed with PG-SGA and body composition by bioimpedance. Results: The study includes 91 patients. A total of 45.05% of patients required intensive nutritional intervention, 39.56% needed dietary and pharmacological measures, 10.99% required health education, and only 4.4% did not require intervention. FOLFOX was significantly associated with taste alterations (p < 0.001), nausea (p = 0.020), unpleasant odors, and eating problems; XELOX with diarrhea (p = 0.009) and xerostomia (p = 0.038). Irinotecan was related to poorer functional capacity (p = 0.042). Oxaliplatin was linked to loss of appetite (p = 0.034) and unpleasant odors (p = 0.035). Older age correlated with a greater need for intensive interventions. Conclusions: The study shows a high nutritional risk in oncology patients, particularly in those with colorectal cancer undergoing FOLFOX treatment, associated with symptoms that impair intake and functional capacity. The systematic implementation of nutritional screening from the onset of treatment, using tools such as the PG-SGA and GLIM criteria, is essential for early detection and individualized management, improving therapy tolerance, clinical outcomes, and quality of life.

AIM: This study aimed to adapt and validate the Nurse Caring Patient Scale (NCPS) in a puerperal context to the European Portuguese. METHOD: This research was a methodological study. The participant sample comprised 100 puerperal women, with an average age of 31.3 years (SD = 5.65), who attended a public hospital in southern Portugal. The instrument, originally consisting of 22 items, underwent translation, back translation, and semantic and colloquial conciliation. Ethical aspects have been respected. RESULTS: Factor analysis with varimax rotation revealed a set of 17 items with factor weights greater than .400. Three factors emerged, which explain 65.537% of the variance, namely “Being-at-the-Moment” (8 items), “Responsibility-for-the-Other” (5 items) and “Care-Diligent” (4 items). Reliability through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient in the total scale was .881, and in the subscales, ranged from .713 to .938. Precision was analyzed using the split-half method, reaching an alpha with Spearman-Brown correction of .900. The convergent validity between the instrument versus the discrete variable Care-Offered showed, in the total scale, a Spearman rho of .851 and in the subscales between .528 and .616. In the discriminating validity, the Mann–Whitney test revealed that Portuguese women, vis-à-vis foreign women significantly value the dimensions “Being-at-the Moment” and “Responsibility-for-the-Other” (p < .05), while in the “Care-Diligent” component, there are no significant differences (p > .05). CONCLUSION: The European Portuguese version of the NCPS, in an obstetric context, has reliability and validity. A further study in a random sample and validation in other Lusophone countries will be appropriate. Cite this article as: Galhanas, A., Frias, A., & Sim-Sim, M. (2022).

Background: Understanding participants’ perceptions of educational interventions is essential for improving the quality and acceptability of training in sexual and reproductive health. In the context of sex education, evaluating satisfaction provides relevant information about how training is experienced and perceived by participants in different social and geographical settings. Objectives: This study aims to explore and characterise women’s satisfaction with sex education training sessions and to analyse differences in perceived satisfaction between urban and rural contexts, focusing on organisational aspects and trainer–participant interaction. This study does not seek to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention, but rather to examine the participants’ perceived experience of the training. Methods: A quantitative, exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted using the Women’s Satisfaction Questionnaire on Sex Education Training. The sample consisted of 180 women from different European countries, including 94 participants from urban areas and 86 from rural areas. Data were collected after the training sessions and analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 29. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed, with a significance level set at p < 0.05. Results: Overall, satisfaction levels were high, with 93.3% of participants reporting high satisfaction. The highest-rated aspects included clarity of session objectives (mean = 4.63), a supportive learning environment (mean = 4.61), and perceived relevance of the content (mean = 4.54). Satisfaction was high across both dimensions analysed—organisation of training and trainer–participant interaction. Statistically significant differences were observed according to sociodemographic variables, particularly age, education level, and area of residence, with women in rural areas reporting higher satisfaction. Conclusions: The findings highlight a high level of satisfaction among women participating in sex education training sessions, particularly regarding organisational quality and the interaction established with the trainer. These results provide a detailed understanding of factors associated with the participants’ perceived experience of training in different contexts. However, the study is limited to the assessment of satisfaction and does not allow conclusions to be drawn regarding the effectiveness of the training or its impact on behavioural or health outcomes.
