Irraivan Elamvazuthi received his B.Eng. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) in 1989, and subsequently obtained his Ph.D from the Department of Automatic Control & Systems Engineering, University of Sheffield, the United Kingdom in 2002. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. At UTP, he is attached to the institute of Health Analytics where is actively involved in robotics and automation-related research. His membership in national and international professional bodies include Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE), IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, IEEE Control Systems Society, Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). Prior to joining UTP, he has worked at University Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia France Institute, Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) and UMW Industrial Power.
