Sorin Hermon is Associate Professor (tenured) digital cultural heritage at The Cyprus Institute, Nicosia, Cyprus, since 2016. He was previously a researcher at PIN from 2000 to 2008, and then assistant professor and research coordinator at The Cyprus Institute. He got a PhD in archaeology, 2003, from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. He is the coordinator of the Master of Science program on Digital Cultural Heritage at The Cyprus Institute (since 2019).
Principal investigator on several EU and nationally funded projects in the broader digital cultural heritage field, with an accumulate budget of more than 5 million Euro in the last 5 years. His Research interests include 3D scientific visualization in cultural heritage, knowledge repositories and domain ontologies in cultural heritage, integration of analytical, digital and imaging techniques for the analysis of heritage assets, assessment of data quality, transparency and uncertainty.
