Dr. Carlos Vila Pastor was the head of the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Design and the director of the Design and Manufacturing Master's program. He was a professor of manufacturing technology at Jaume I University of Castellón (Spain). He received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master's in Nuclear Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. He joined Jaume I University in 1993, and since then, he has been lecturing on the Fundamentals of Manufacturing Processes, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, Automated Process and Computer Integrated Manufacturing in the Industrial and Mechanical Engineering Master's program and Modelling and Integration Techniques in the Engineering doctorate program. He has set up the Integrated Design and Manufacturing Laboratory and he has been involved in various national research projects regarding the implementation of concurrent engineering with automotive part suppliers and the ceramic tile supply chain.
