I am Dr. Gustavo Cuaxinque-Flores, a Research Assistant at the Department of Microbial Ecology. I completed my PhD studies in Microbial Ecology and Comparative Genomics in 2025. I recently led projects on metals and comparative genomics, as well as microbially induced carbonate precipitation (MICP). I have published 6 papers in different journals focusing on MICP, and genome mining. My research interests include metal resistance, genomics, metagenomics, nitrogen-fixing bacteria, soil bacteria interactions, and microbiomes of extreme environments
