We generated novel, effective candidate vaccine against Brucella abortus based on recombinant influenza viruses expressing the Brucella ribosomal protein L7/L12 or outer membrane protein (Omp)-16 from the NS1 open reading frame. The main purpose of this work was to evaluate the safety, immunogenicity and protectiveness of vaccine candidate in laboratory animals.

This study presents the results of a survey of the safety and protective efficacy of a candidate vector-based vaccine for bovine tuberculosis, using an influenza vector with the NS1 mutation and expressing M. bovis protective antigens ESAT-6 and TB10.4. We vaccinated Balb/c outbred mice two times at 21 days apart. Our experimental design includes mice immunised with the candidate vaccine with or without adjuvant 15% Montanide Gel. The candidate vaccine’s safety was determined by biometric analysis, and protective efficacy was assessed by bacteriological and histological experiments following a virulent M. bovis-8 strain challenge. Our data indicated that the adjuvant-free version of the vaccine ensured complete protection from the M. bovis-8 infection in mice.

This article presents the results of statistical data as of July 1, compared with the same date last year, the number of horses as a whole increased by 8.5%, amounting to 3372.5 thousand heads as of July 1. However, during the winter months (January and February), the number of horses in Kazakhstan decreased by 1.3%. In absolute terms, the number of horses in January decreased by 20.2 thousand heads, and in February by another 16.6 thousand heads. In recent years, the country has seen an increase in the incidence of mytomy not only among foals, but also among adult livestock. In order to conduct epizootological monitoring of washing of horses, according to the calendar plan of the project IRN 08855635, from 2020-2022 scientific expeditions were organized on the territory of the Almaty region of the republic with the sampling of pathological material from sick animals. As a result of the purposeful organization and conduct of expedition trips, the necessary epidemiological data were collected and the analysis of ongoing veterinary and sanitary measures was carried out. As a result of this stage, samples were collected in a total of 112 samples of biomaterial from sick washed foals during sowing, it was possible to isolate the culture of the microbe only in 3 cases. This circumstance is due to the fact that the modified forms of mytaceous streptococcus causing atypical cases of the disease are very difficult to cultivate. According to the results of the study, bacterial isolates were identified as the species Streptococcus equi.

Epizootic lymphangitis is a chronic infectious disease, the causative agent of which is the fungus Histoplasma farciminosum and continues to cause significant outbreaks worldwide, despite several decades of epidemiological surveillance, diagnosis and prevention. Therefore, research on the selection of strains in the composition of anti-lymphangoitic agents is very relevant. The following strains of Histoplasma farciminosum fungus were used for selection: 410, T, YH, 5th, 4th, 5th, 17th, 21st, 8ZH. Microbiological studies of the studied strains were carried out with the study of cultural and morphological properties, the isolation of saccharolytic, proteolytic enzymes, the formation of catalase, oxidase, etc. To determine the biological properties of strains, agar and Saburo broth were used. In the course of the work, the cultural and biochemical properties of 9 strains of fungi were studied: 410, T, YH, 5th, 4th, 5th, 17th, 21st, 8ZH, as well as their growth on the Saburo nutrient medium. The validity of choosing a strain to create an anti-lymphangoitic agent of horses should include the following parameters: the strain, regardless of the type and genus, should have homogeneous cultural and morphological properties without signs of dissociation and abundant bacterial mass yield, In total, the selected strains will be a biological reserve that can be used in the development of diagnostic tools and prevention of equine lymphangoitis
