With the rapid development of consumer electronics in Industry 5.0, personalized service supplement based on the cloud infrastructure for the Internet of Things (IoT) has been a promising requirement pushed to consumers. During the massive and frequent IoT data interaction from the consumer-centric in Industry 5.0, efficiently searchable encryption for multiple consumers are indispensable. Existing multi-user searchable encryption is based on attribute and predicate encryption technology to realize one-to-many rather than realistic many-to-many scenarios. Moreover, multi-keyword ranked search, dynamic update, and search pattern hiding have not been implemented in the multi-user scenario. In this paper, to address the above problems for consumer electronics in Industry 5.0, we present a privacy-preserving dynamic multi-keyword ranked search scheme over encrypted cloud data to accomplish pay-as-you-consume cloud data security sharing. Our scheme designs a specific tree-based index structure and a “Greedy Breadth-First Search” algorithm to achieve the sub-linear search. To support dynamic updates in the cloud, a novel secure maximum generation protocol is proposed. Finally, the security analysis and experiment evaluation prove our scheme cannot only preserve the privacy of index and search patterns but also support dynamic update operations under the multi-writer/multi-reader setting at an acceptable cost.
Although differential privacy metaverse data sharing can avoid privacy leakage of sensitive data, randomly perturbing local metaverse data will lead to an imbalance between utility and privacy. Therefore, this work proposed models and algorithms of differential privacy metaverse data sharing using Wasserstein generative adversarial networks (WGAN). Firstly, this study constructed the mathematical model of differential privacy metaverse data sharing by introducing appropriate regularization term related to generated data's discriminant probability into WGAN. Secondly, we established basic model and algorithm for differential privacy metaverse data sharing using WGAN based on the constructed mathematical model, and theoretically analyzed basic algorithm. Thirdly, we established federated model and algorithm for differential privacy metaverse data sharing using WGAN by serialized training based on basic model, and theoretically analyzed federated algorithm. Finally, based on utility and privacy metrics, we conducted a comparative analysis for the basic algorithm of differential privacy metaverse data sharing using WGAN, and experimental results validate theoretical results, which show that algorithms of differential privacy metaverse data sharing using WGAN maintaining equilibrium between privacy and utility.
Differential privacy mechanisms can offer a trade-off between privacy and utility by using privacy metrics and utility metrics. The trade-off of differential privacy shows that one thing increases and another decreases in terms of privacy metrics and utility metrics. However, there is no unified trade-off measurement of differential privacy mechanisms. To this end, we proposed the definition of privacy-preserving monotonicity of differential privacy, which measured the trade-off between privacy and utility. First, to formulate the trade-off, we presented the definition of privacy-preserving monotonicity based on computational indistinguishability. Second, building on privacy metrics of the expected estimation error and entropy, we theoretically and numerically showed privacy-preserving monotonicity of Laplace mechanism, Gaussian mechanism, exponential mechanism, and randomized response mechanism. In addition, we also theoretically and numerically analyzed the utility monotonicity of these several differential privacy mechanisms based on utility metrics of modulus of characteristic function and variant of normalized entropy. Third, according to the privacy-preserving monotonicity of differential privacy, we presented a method to seek trade-off under a semi-honest model and analyzed a unilateral trade-off under a rational model. Therefore, privacy-preserving monotonicity can be used as a criterion to evaluate the trade-off between privacy and utility in differential privacy mechanisms under the semi-honest model. However, privacy-preserving monotonicity results in a unilateral trade-off of the rational model, which can lead to severe consequences.
The distributed training of federated machine learning, referred to as federated learning (FL), is discussed in models by multiple participants using local data without compromising data privacy and violating laws. In this paper, we consider the training of federated machine models with uncertain participation attitudes and uncertain benefits of each federated participant, and to encourage all participants to train the desired FL models, we design a fuzzy Shapley value incentive mechanism with supervision. In this incentive mechanism, if the supervision of the supervised mechanism detects that the payoffs of a federated participant reach a value that satisfies the Pareto optimality condition, the federated participant receives a distribution of federated payoffs. The results of numerical experiments demonstrate that the mechanism successfully achieves a fair and Pareto optimal distribution of payoffs. The contradiction between fairness and Pareto-efficient optimization is solved by introducing a supervised mechanism.
The existing work has conducted in-depth research and analysis on global differential privacy (GDP) and local differential privacy (LDP) based on information theory. However, the data privacy preserving community does not systematically review and analyze GDP and LDP based on the information-theoretic channel model. To this end, we systematically reviewed GDP and LDP from the perspective of the information-theoretic channel in this survey. First, we presented the privacy threat model under information-theoretic channel. Second, we described and compared the information-theoretic channel models of GDP and LDP. Third, we summarized and analyzed definitions, privacy-utility metrics, properties, and mechanisms of GDP and LDP under their channel models. Finally, we discussed the open problems of GDP and LDP based on different types of information-theoretic channel models according to the above systematic review. Our main contribution provides a systematic survey of channel models, definitions, privacy-utility metrics, properties, and mechanisms for GDP and LDP from the perspective of information-theoretic channel and surveys the differential privacy synthetic data generation application using generative adversarial network and federated learning, respectively. Our work is helpful for systematically understanding the privacy threat model, definitions, privacy-utility metrics, properties, and mechanisms of GDP and LDP from the perspective of information-theoretic channel and promotes in-depth research and analysis of GDP and LDP based on different types of information-theoretic channel models.
