Dr. Maria Principia Scavo, a Clinical Pathologist, studied Biology Science at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Italy, and graduated with an MS in 2001. She then joined the research group at the Institute of Biochemistry and Medical Biology at the University of Bari for her PhD and received her PhD degree in 2004. After 6 years of postdoctoral fellowship at the Gastroenterology Laboratory, University of Bari, and 3 years at the Laboratory of Nanomedicine, Methodist Research Institute of Houston, she obtained the position of a Senior Biologist at the National Institute of Gastroenterology IRCCS deBellis, Castellana Grotte BARI, ITALY. She has published more than 40 research articles in SCI(E) journals.
