Dr. Florentina Matei is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Food and Tourism in Transilvania University of Brasov. She received her Doctoral degree in Horticulture in 2003 and a postdoc in microbial food safety. Her specialties include food safety and microbial food quality, microbial antagonism, yeast and lactic acid bacteria isolation and selection from feremnted food matrices, probiotics and postbiotics, and the development of functional beverages/food supplements. She authored over 50 WoS articles. As for patents, she owns four approved patents and three submitted patents. She participated in projects, such as being a project manager (PI) of four international (FP7, ECO-Net) and seven national projects. She is also a team member of three international (Horizon 2020, ERA-IB) and sixteen national projects.
