Dr. Florentina Matei is a coordinator of the Applied Microbiology lab at the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest. She received her Doctoral degree in Horticulture in 2003 and a postdoc in microbial food safety. Her specialties include food safety and microbial food quality, microbial antagonism, yeast and lactic acid bacteria isolation and selection from food fermentative matrices, probiotics and postbiotics, and the development of functional beverages/food supplements. She authored 29 ISI articles with IF and 23 ESCI (ISI, no IF) articles. As for patents, she owns four approved patents and three submitted patents. She participated in projects, such as being a project manager (PI) of four international (FP7, ECO-Net) and seven national projects. She is also a team member of three international (Horizon 2020, ERA-IB) and sixteen national projects.
