In this paper, we present a modular, high-performance prototype platform for real-time event extraction, designed to address key challenges in processing large volumes of unstructured data across applications like crisis management, social media monitoring and news aggregation. The prototype integrates advanced natural language processing (NLP) techniques (Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI), Named Entity Recognition (NER)) with data mining strategies to improve precision in relevance scoring, clustering and entity extraction. The platform is designed to handle real-time constraints in an efficient manner, by combining TF-IDF, LSI and NER into a hybrid pipeline. Unlike the transformer-based architectures that often struggle with latency, our prototype is scalable and flexible enough to support various domains like disaster management and social media monitoring. The initial quantitative and qualitative evaluations demonstrate the platform’s efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and are validated by metrics like F1-score, response time, and user satisfaction. Its design has a balance between fast computation and precise semantic analysis, and this can make it effective for applications that necessitate rapid processing. This prototype offers a robust foundation for high-frequency data processing, adaptable and scalable for real-time scenarios. In our future work, we will further explore contextual understanding, scalability through microservices and cross-platform data fusion for expanded event coverage.

One way of handling short-time short-circuits without causing equipment failure is the management of the reclose function integrated into smart switchboard which is described in this article. Due to the cost of the application, the optimal placement of such equipment must be well-planned. During the planning of the placement optimization of a low-voltage electricity network quality, the increase of the consumer supply security must be considered along with the best economic utilization. The research presented in this article aims to introduce a new special decision support methodology calculated with these variables. The management of smart switchboard (SSB) tool installation into low voltage (LV) network was investigated. The selection of the placement nodes is based on the complex investigation of the network characteristics. Investigation is performed by empiric analysis. This method can support the power companies to make the optimal decision. The presented new device can have outstanding importance for the electric industry and for further research as no testing results of such investigations have been published yet.

A TANULMÁNY CÉLJAA platformarchitektúrák egyre összetettebbé válása és a platformok számos iparágban való elterjedése új kutatási kihívásokat von maga után. A komplex platform definíciója a szakirodalomban nem egységes. A platform fogalma több oldalról is megközelíthető. Ennek megfelelően a hatékony vizsgálatokat a meglevő csoportosítási modellek hierarchikus áttekintése biztosítja.

Manual assembly of multi-pin cable harnesses remains vulnerable to miswiring when conductors are visually indistinguishable. This paper presents an industrial case study of a quick-connect harness composed of two connectors (receptacle-type and pin-type) linked by 16 black conductors (2.5 mm²; 200 mm length), where the dominant failure mode is a two-wire swap that breaks correct pin-to-pin mapping and may cause downstream equipment damage. In the baseline state, end-of-line verification relied on visual inspection only (1 min/unit), resulting in an internal nonconformity rate of 4% (repairable). To achieve the operational goal of zero defects (zero escapes), we propose and integrate an electronic pin-to-pin continuity and mapping fixture as a deterministic End-of-Line (EOL) quality gate implementing poka-yoke logic (“no PASS—no shipment”) and enabling structured traceability records. Using a before–after workload model that includes mandatory retest after rework, the fixture reduces test time to 0.33 min/unit. For a monthly volume of 1500 units, total quality workload (test + rework + retest) decreases from 31 h/month to 13.58 h/month, releasing 17.42 h/month. Global quality productivity increases from 48.39 units/h to 110.46 units/h (+128%). The proposed architecture couples deterministic electrical verification with data logging aligned to digital thread and data-driven quality management concepts to sustain continuous improvement and prevent customer escapes.

This study examines the impact of sustainability reporting regulations on the accounting profession, with a focus on how accounting professionals are expected to adapt to new reporting requirements in the context of digitalization and sustainability integration. Using a qualitative research design, the study is based on a focus group involving accounting professionals and sustainability experts, aimed at identifying key challenges, opportunities and competency needs related to the effective implementation of sustainability reporting within organizations. The findings indicate that sustainability reporting requirements necessitate the development of a broad set of competencies among accounting professionals, extending beyond technical reporting skills to include sustainability knowledge, digital literacy, and enhanced communication and negotiation abilities. Automation and digitalization of accounting and reporting processes are identified as key enablers for improving efficiency, reducing repetitive tasks and minimizing human error. Moreover, advanced IT solutions, including artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing, are perceived as valuable tools for supporting ESG data collection, integration and analysis. The study is conducted in the Romanian context, providing insights into the specific challenges faced by an emerging EU economy in adapting to sustainability reporting requirements. The study concludes that continuous learning and adaptability are considered important for accounting professionals to effectively respond to evolving sustainability reporting regulations, contributing to the existing literature by highlighting emerging competency requirements in this field. These findings should be interpreted as exploratory and context-specific, reflecting the perspectives of participants from a single focus group conducted in the Romanian accounting context.
