One of the valuable fractions of paraffinic oils is the diesel fraction, which can be used as a commercial fuel. However, the high content of alkanes of normal structure (~10–40%) in the diesel fraction leads to a deterioration in the performance characteristics of the fuel and, as a result, the inability to use the diesel fraction without additional processing in the cold season at lower temperatures, which is critical for many regions with cold winters. The process of catalytic dewaxing is one of the most promising ways to improve the low-temperature characteristics of diesel fractions. This work is devoted to studying the activity of promoted Ni, Mo, and Ni-Mo catalysts based on mesoporous aluminosilicate and pre-activated bentonite in dewaxing diesel fractions. The effect of the nature and content of promoting additives on the activity of bifunctional catalysts in the process of hydroisodewaxing of diesel fraction in a flow-type reactor in the temperature range of 260–340 °C, pressure of 2 MPa and feed space velocity of 1 h–1 was studied. It is shown that the synthesized bifunctional catalysts based on mesoporous aluminosilicate and pre-activated bentonite from the Tagan field (Ni/MAS-H-bentonite, Mo/MAS-H-bentonite, and Ni-Mo/MAS-H-bentonite) have the necessary balance of Lewis and Bronsted acid centers strengths. It allows them to selectively conduct the hydroisodewaxing process. It has been established that the use of the synthesized 5% Ni-1% Mo/MAS-H-bentonite bifunctional catalyst in the diesel fractions hydroisodewaxing process under optimal process conditions makes it possible to obtain diesel fuel with low-temperature characteristics that meet the requirements for cold climate fuels: cold filter plugging point (CFPP)—minus 33 °C, flash point in a closed cup—39 °C and pour point—minus 36 °C.

The global spread of multi-resistant pathogenic microorganisms has significantly complicated the treatment of chronic wounds. The development of novel drugs requires a substantial time investment. Hybrid materials such as nanoparticles stabilized by plant extracts are considered the best for creating efficient antiseptic substances. This paper is the first to discuss quantitative and qualitative analyses of the phytochemical constituents of the medicinal plant Artemisia terrae-albae, collected in Kazakhstan. The antimicrobial activity of the extracts, as well as of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) stabilized by Artemisia terrae-albae extract, were evaluated. AgNPs were characterized by an average size of 82 nm or larger with a negative surface charge. TEM analysis of the obtained suspension showed a nonuniform structure of particles synthesized at a low concentration of ethyl acetate solvent in water. The SPR peak of AgNPs@Art aq. extract was detected at 420 nm, while any clear SPR peak was observed for AgNPs@Art ethylacetate extract. Diluted Artemisia terrae-albae extracts did not exhibit pronounced antimicrobial activity due to the poor solubility of compounds in water. Nevertheless, the AgNPs@Art aq. and AgNPs@Art EtAc. extracts possessed antimicrobial activity against the Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Escherichia coli (ATCC 8739), and Candida albicans ATCC 10231 strains.

This study investigated the macro- and microelement profiles and bioactive substances (BAS) in the herbaceous species of the genus Rheum collected from two villages near Almaty, Kazakhstan, and the accumulation of heavy metals (HMs) in wild plants of Eastern Kazakhstan. Representative zonal species from the steppes and desert–steppes (Eastern Kazakhstan) were analyzed—totaling one hundred samples across 18 species from six families. According to the research, different plant species have a selective ability to accumulate heavy metals, even when growing in the same type of soil. Long-term observations reveal dominant patterns of HM (Cu, Zn, Mn, Co, Pb, Cd) occurrence in dry-steppe vegetation. It was found that Cu and Co demonstrate moderate bioadsorption with minimal accumulation, while Zn, Mn, and Pb show strong biological enrichment. Cadmium falls under elements with pronounced biological retention. Copper and cobalt are classified as moderately absorbed with limited buildup. Native plants in this region contain substantially greater amounts of lead relative to cobalt, and reflect cadmium–zinc geochemical specificity: Cd 3.85, Zn 0.15, Mn 0.10, Pb 0.09, Co 0.07, Cu 0.04, per Clark’s concentration index. Samples of collected Rheum tataricum L. in the village of Miyaly were found to have higher levels of flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and organic acids, while raw materials from the village of Bakbakty showed increased accumulation of anthracene derivatives and tannins. Flavonoids constituted the largest proportion of the studied groups of biologically active substances in both samples, confirming the high biological and pharmacological value of the plant material studied. The results obtained during the research can be successfully applied to the development of a strategy for the conservation of plant biodiversity in the studied areas and the sustainable management of plant resources.

This paper presents the results of detailed studies of the possibility of using Lewis acid AlCl3as a promoter of the catalytic three-component system PdCl2(PPh3)2–PPh3–AlCl3in the hydroethoxycarbonylation reaction of cyclohexene at low carbon monoxide pressures (2.5 MPa). As a result a high catalytic activity of the three-component system was established and the reaction proceeds regioselectively with the formation of ethyl ether of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid. The optimal conditions of the process have been elaborated (molar ratio of the starting reagents [Cyclohexene]:[Ethanol] = 1:1; molar ratio of the components of the catalytic system = =[PdCl2(PPh3)2]:[PPh3]:[AlCl3] = 1:6:9; carbon monoxide pressure PCO=2.5MPa; process temperature T=120°C and reaction time τ= 5 h) at which the target product yield reaches 80.7%. To identify the obtained ethyl ester of cyclohexane carboxylic acid gas chromatographic analysis and mass-and IR-spectra were carried out. Based on the data obtained, a possible mechanism of the reaction route of cyclohexene carbonylation with carbon monoxide and ethanol in the presence of the three-component system PdCl2(PPh3)2–PPh3–AlCl3is pro-posed and discussed.

In this article it was demonstrated that potassium ethyl carbonate can be successfully utilized within the phenol and its derivatives carboxylation. The optimal reaction conditions for m-cresol were determined: substrate to potassium ethyl carbonate ratio 2:1, temperature 180°C, pressure 10 atmospheres and reaction time 6 hours. Importantly, the carboxylation of m-cresol is selective and resulted in the obtaining of 4-methyl-2-hydroxybenzoic acid in 90% yield. To study the impact of the nature and location of substituents in the phenyl ring on the yield of the desired products, carboxylation reactions of various phenol derivatives were carried out with the use of potassium ethyl carbonate. As a result of the investigation, the optimal carboxylation reaction parameters for each of the phenol derivatives were determined. This study may have practical applications in the development of laboratory and manufacturing approaches for the synthesizing of valuable hydroxybenzoic acids and their derivatives. It was discovered that carboxylation of phenol derivatives by potassium ethyl carbonate occurs via electrophilic substitution of the aromatic ring. The most active in this reaction are p-cresol (84%), mcresol (90%), o-cresol (80%) and resorcinol (73%). It was observed that p-chlorophenol (18%), pbromophenol (48%) and p-fluorophenol (58%) showed less pronounced activity.
