Rashid Mirzavand received his BSc degree from the Isfahan University of Technology, in 2004, and his MSc and PhD degrees from the Amirkabir University of Technology, in 2007 and 2011, respectively, all in electrical engineering. From 2012 to 2015, he was an Assistant Professor with the Amirkabir University of Technology. Since 2015, he has been a research and development scientist and is currently an Adjunct Professor with the Intelligent Wireless Technology Lab, University of Alberta. Dr. Mirzavand is a co-founder of several companies from the University of Alberta. He is the author of more than 140 papers published in refereed journals and conferences proceedings. His research interests include microwave/mm-wave circuits, sensors, measurement systems, and antennas. Dr. Mirzavand has received the Best M.Sc. Researcher Award 2007, Best Ph.D. Researcher Award 2011, Best MICT National Researcher Award 2013, National Elite Foundation Young Professor Grant Award 2014, AITF Elite PDF Award 2015, Honorable CMC Industrial Collaboration Award 2017, and TEC Edmonton Innovation Award 2019.
