Hao Tian was born in Liaoning, China, in 1985. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Dalian University of Technology, China, in 2008 and 2011, and a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, USA, in 2016. Dr Tian joined Dalian Maritime University in 2017, and he is currently an Associate Professor with the Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering College. His research interests include the design of mechatronic systems, intelligent electrohydraulic components, and the development of subsea/ocean environment compatible fluid power systems. Dr Tian was a recipient of a National Natural Science Foundation of China Grant in 2017, and was a Co-PI in a National Key Research and Development Program of China in 2020.
