ALAA SAGHEER received his Ph.D. in Intelligent Systems in 2007 from the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University, JAPAN. Sagheer is working as a Full Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Aswan University, EGYPT. He founded and directed the "Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics" (CAIRO) at Aswan University in 2010. As a principal investigator at CAIRO, he ran and led many research and academic projects funded by different Egyptian governmental organizations. In 2013, Sagheer and his team won the first prize in a programming competition organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology in EGYPT for the system entitled "Mute and Hearing Impaired Education via an Intelligent Lip Reading System". Recently, Sagheer has joined the Department of Computer Science, College of Computer Sciences and Information Technology, King Faisal University, SAUDI ARABIA. Sagheer's research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern recognition, the optimization theory, and computer vision. Recently, Sagheer has extended his research interest to include quantum-inspired neural computation and quantum information. Prof. Sagheer has been a member of IEEE and IEEE Computational Intelligence societies since 2003. He is a reviewer for several international journals and international conferences related to his research themes.
