Modern construction market is experiencing a shortage of highly efficient thermal insulation materials. Alkali-silicate raw mixtures in combination with high-performance fillers currently make it possible to create porous heat-insulating materials with unique properties: rigid cellular structure, specified geometric dimensions and shape, low thermal conductivity, incombustibility, high processability, environmental friendliness, etc. at a relatively low cost. The use of such heat-insulating materials in construction allows solving the problems of energy saving, accessibility and cost-effectiveness. The article considers possibility of obtaining heat-insulating material based on sodium silicate (silicate glue "Polipax") and natural material - flasks from Taskalinsky deposit of West Kazakhstan region. Technical characteristics of Polypax glue are given. Using a scanning electron microscope, elemental, chemical, and oxide compositions of the flask were studied. A recipe for a heat-insulating composite material (HCM) has been compiled. To assess the quality of the obtained HCM, its physical and mechanical characteristics were determined: density, water resistance, thermal conductivity, strength. Samples I-II in terms of density and strength showed the best results, and samples III-IV differ slightly from the technical conditions in terms of the studied indicators. It has been determined that the obtained HCM using flask as filler has a positive effect on the performance properties of the heat-insulating material, and is also economically viable, because local raw materials are used. Thus, it is possible to use flask from Taskalinsky deposit of West Kazakhstan region as filler for heat-insulating material.
This study explores the use of diatomite from West Kazakhstan as a silica-containing raw material for borosilicate glass production. Three glass batches, based on quartz sand, chalk, and diatomite, were synthesized with varying ratios of network-forming and modifying oxides. Partial replacement of quartz sand with diatomite enabled glass melting at 1150 °C, producing a homogeneous melt. Glasses with higher diatomite content showed improved chemical and water resistance; specifically, the sample containing 52% diatomite achieved hydrolytic class III and water resistance class IV (XA = 1.0 cm3·g−1), whereas quartz-based control samples corresponded to classes IV–V. Heat resistance ranged from 120 to 160 °C depending on composition. These findings demonstrate that amorphous SiO2 and active oxides in diatomite promote a stronger three-dimensional glass network, highlighting the potential of locally sourced diatomite as an alternative SiO2 source for sustainable, energy-efficient borosilicate glass production.

The quality of road bitumen is one of the most important factors determining the service life and quality of road asphalt concrete pavements. Current trends in oil refining and, in particular, increasingly deeper processing of crude oil, require consideration of the characteristics of its chemical composition and structure for the production of road bitumen, and, accordingly, the physical and mechanical properties of the bitumen produced. In this study the BOR 70/100 oil asphalt from the Aktau Bitumen Factory LLP “CaspiBitum” was considered. An asphalt was modified with polymer waste to upgrade operating properties. The I-40 industrial oil was used as a softener. Indicators like penetration, extensibility (ductility), brittleness temperature and softening temperature of bitumen were explored in this study. It was shown, that physical-mechanical properties of bitumen increased after modification: needle penetration depth decreased, extensibility decreased, softening temperature increased. Also, the influence of polymers on the structure of bitumen and the effect of their action in the composition were examined. Structure of polymer waste in Republic of Kazakhstan was analyzed. It was proved, that the usage of the recycled polyethylene as a modifier is a rational approach, and it lets to recycle stocks of secondary polymeric materials. Also problems of improving the properties of polymer-bitumen binder and ecology solved.

Glass is one of the widely used materials in the construction industry and in everyday life. The year-on-year growing demand for various types of glass products pushes the glass-making industries to increase their production volumes and not to lower their quality levels. The scientific and technical progress in glass extraction has gradually expanded the area of its effective use. In recent years, significant changes have taken place in the glassmaking technique. New production methods and ways of improving existing technological processes appeared, and new areas of glass application began to open. The chemical composition of the product was changed and different types of glass were made. In this regard, the study of the method of obtaining glass with different properties is one of the most important issues. In order to prepare the composition of colored glass used in the production of various products, colored glass was obtained in laboratory conditions. Physico-chemical properties of the obtained colored glass were studied in order to determine the area of application. Based on the research results, the obtained colored glass can be used for decorative purposes.

The article analyzes the factors influencing the development of high-quality and cost-effective oil and gas reserves in the region (assessment, design). In order to operate wells, directions for calculating the size of reserves have been found. Scientific and technical trends of its (wells) development are considered. A comprehensive analysis of integrated surveys was carried out at well No.32 of the Chinarevsk oil and gas condensate field, located in the southern section of the district. Hydrodynamic studies were carried out by interpreting the pressure recovery curve (PRC) to determine reservoir pressure, porosity and reservoir properties of the reservoir and the state of the bottom whole zone. These studies confirmed the low porosity properties of the reservoir: permeability - 0.004 μm2, conductivity - 0.056 μm2*m, hydraulic conductivity - 0.055 μm2*m/mPa*s. The skin factor varied in the range from -0.92 to 18.4, which indicates deterioration in the state of the bottom hole formation zone.
