Polyakov Alexander Viktorovich graduated in 1976 from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics at Leningrad State University. In 1994, he graduated with a Ph.D. in physics and mathematics, and in 2007 he graduated with a Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (Ph.D or habilitation). He has been a professor at St. Petersburg University since 2007.
