Gloria Huerta Ángeles completed her PhD at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2006. Currently, she is a full-time researcher at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Prague. She held a postdoctoral position at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS. After that, she worked in the industry on projects related to the chemical modification of hyaluronic acid for almost 14 years. She applied for 17 patents dealing with hyaluronan chemistry and its processing. She has published around 50 papers in several journals on chemical modification and characterization of polysaccharides, amphiphiles, encapsulation of active compounds, and preparation of nanofibrous scaffolds for wound healing. She is now working as an Associate Editor in the journal “Carbohydrate Polymers”, and is part of the editorial board of the journal “Polysaccharides-MDPI”. Currently, she is on the reviewer board of the journal “Polymers-MDPI”.
