Prof. Dr. Milan Melník, DrSc graduated from the Comenius University of Bratislava, Slovakia and obtained his PhD (1972) and Doctor of Science (1990) from Slovak Technical University (Slovakia). His main research interests concern the coordination and bio-coordination chemistry of the transition and main group elements. His research activities include structures, properties and bioactivities and he is focused on the development of new drugs on the basis of copper complexes, antirheumatics and antituberculotics, with bioactive ligands. He has (co)authored 59 scientific monographs and over 350 scientific papers. He is a member of various universities and is the lead scientist on many research projects.
