Dr. Murshed is a professor at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He received his Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University Singapore in 2007. He was a visiting professor at the RIT, New York, Imperial College London, and IIT, India. He also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the University of Central Florida (UCF), USA. Prof. Murshed is enlisted in the rankings of the world's top 2% of scientists, which was published by Stanford University on October 10, 2022. His position in the list of a single year (2021) is 16080 out of 200409 scientists. Notably, he ranked 45th among the 763 listed scientists from Portugal on the list for the impact of 2021. Prof Murshed received the ULisboa/CGD Scientific Award 2022 for his exceptional scientific contributions and impact. He has authored/co-authored over 250 scientific publications in leading international journals and conferences,12 books, and 34 book chapters. His current GS citation count is 9970, with an h-index of 40. Several of his papers have been classified as Highly Cited Papers by Web of Science (Essential Science Indicators). He served as the group leader of a European COST action (NanoUptake) and regularly serves as an expert evaluator for the EC and for funding agencies of different countries. His main research interests include nanofluids, ionanofluids, micro- and nanoscale heat transfer, nanomaterials, microfluidics, advanced energy, and cooling technologies.
