Dr. Kieran Nolan is an associate professor in the School of Chemical Sciences at Dublin City University in Dublin, Ireland. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry from York University in 1996 and was also a visiting senior lecturer at King’s College London from 2019 to 2021. Dr. Kieran Nolan’s research interests primarily include green chemistry (flow synthesis, flow biocatalysis, enzyme plastics degradation, bio-manufacturing, and deep eutectic solvents), synthetic chemistry (new photosensitisers for theranostic and PDT applications, macrocycle design, materials design for photocatalysis, and sorption applications), medicinal chemistry (potassium channel inhibitor development for the treatment of multiple sclerosis and photodynamic therapy), and environmental chemistry (photocatalysis in water treatment, development of new membrane technologies for water purification, and environmental forensics).
