I am an environmental engineer and researcher working at the intersection of critical mineral recovery, wastewater treatment, and artificial intelligence. My research focuses on developing sustainable and energy-efficient separation technologies to recover valuable resources, such as lithium, selenium, organics, from complex water sources including brines and industrial wastewater. I am particularly interested in combining experimental materials development with machine learning, large language models, and other AI tools to accelerate membrane discovery, process optimization, and mechanism understanding.
Through my Ph.D. and postdoctoral training, I have developed expertise in resource recovery and data-driven materials design. My work has been published in leading journals including Nature Water, Science Advances, Nature Communications, Environmental Science & Technology, and Nano Letters. I am passionate about translating fundamental research into practical technologies that support clean energy, water security, and sustainable manufacturing.
Beyond research, I am committed to mentoring students, building interdisciplinary collaborations, and creating an inclusive research environment. My long-term goal is to establish an AI-guided platform for autonomous materials discovery and sustainable separation processes, enabling faster development of technologies that address urgent environmental and energy challenges.
