Depression is currently one of the most common mental illnesses. It is expressed through mood disorders, loss of interest in life and habitual activities, and is accompanied by a number of other symptoms, which ultimately negatively affects performance and overall health. In addition, there is a proven link between the presence of depression and an increased risk of suicidal ideation and attempts. According to the World Health Organization, 280 million people worldwide suffer from depression. Moreover, over the past ten years, there has been an increase in rates of depression among young people. Adolescence is accompanied by significant psychological changes that are closely related to the neurobiological processes of brain maturation. These changes may increase vulnerability to the development of depressive states, which highlights the need for in-depth study of this issue. An analysis of the scientific literature also revealed that there are practically no psychophysiological studies of depression among adolescents in Kazakhstan, despite the urgency of this problem. Along with various methodological approaches to the study of adolescent depression, we conducted psychometric measurements of the personality characteristics of adolescents with this disorder. In the empirical part of the study, correlations were found between the parameters of understanding emotional states and negative and positive affect. Adolescent depression promotes awareness of only negatively colored emotional states, and also reduces the ability to regulate positive experiences. The results can help in developing early diagnostic and intervention methods for adolescent depression and enhancing strategies for effective psychological support.

Associative learning is a cognitive function that ensures adaptive behavior and safe functioning. It includes a set of cognitive processes involving neural networks of interested areas of the brain responsible for information processing, executive control, sensorimotor coordination, and the subjective experience of reward and punishment, and depends on their integration with each other and feedback signals. The identification of psychophysiological patterns of the normal development of cognitive function is important for understanding its mechanisms, establishing age norms, and early identification of developmental abnormalities. The research aims to study the age-related dynamics of learning with reinforcement in children using a deterministic learning paradigm. It was revealed that the rate of sensorimotor reaction (SR) to visual stimuli is significantly higher in older children, and the temporal dynamics of SR change with age: at the early stages of learning, SR increases in both age groups, and at the later stages, it decreases in younger children and reaches a "plateau" in older children. The similarity of the pattern of SR fluctuations in the early and late stages of learning is shown: SR growth in the late stages of learning relative to the early ones in both age groups. The observed age patterns may indicate the peculiarities of the development of learning mechanisms. The results obtained can be useful for the development of modern approaches to the diagnosis of developmental disorders in children, their correction in the learning process, and in planning the educational load at school.

Machine learning is now widely applied to magnetic resonance imaging-based brain tumor analysis, with task-specific performance metrics: the Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) quantifies segmentation overlap, while the area under the curve (AUC) and accuracy measure classification performance. A PRISMA 2020 systematic review was conducted, searching Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and IEEE Xplore, and identified 213 eligible studies published between January 2018 and the final search date of March 16, 2026. Segmentation performance was synthesized by random-effects meta-analysis and classification performance was summarized descriptively. Classification, detection, and grading tasks dominated the literature, followed by segmentation; U-Net variants were the most frequent architectures, with transformer-based models growing fastest. The pooled mean DSC was 0.871 (95% CI: 0.852–0.889) with a 95% prediction interval of 0.7880.953, and heterogeneity was extreme ( I 2 = 99.9%), so the pooled mean should be read as a descriptive summary of the literature rather than a single underlying effect. The descriptive mean AUC across classification studies was 0.960. Methodological gaps were pervasive: only 18.8% of studies incorporated explainability, only 18.8% performed external validation, and none reported robustness metrics. Benchmark accuracy has outpaced clinical evidence: until models are validated on independent cohorts, evaluated for robustness under realistic acquisition shifts, and made interpretable to clinicians, reported performance is unlikely to translate into patient care.
