Dr Adriano Sciacovelli is Associate Professor at School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham. He is a member of the Birmingham Centre of Energy Storage (BCES). His research concentrates on thermal energy storage and thermal processes, with current interests focusing on latent thermochemical energy storage. He has been leading or involved in >20 research projects, including EPSRC (EP/R016402/1, EP/T022701/1, EP/T022981/1), EU Horizon 2020, and the Royal Society. His work is also contributing significantly to the commercial development of thermal energy storage technology through industrial research funded by Innovate UK (Refs: 133705, 41506). He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings (> 2400 citations; h index of 23, Google Scholar). His work on thermal energy systems has been awarded at international conferences (e.g., ‘Best Paper for Energy Storage’ at HEFAT 2019) and it received the Edward F. Obert Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME). He is Associate Editor of Applied Thermal Engineering for the subject Energy Storage.
