Silvia Serranti is a full professor of raw materials engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials & Environment (DICMA), Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, University of Rome “La Sapienza”. She teaches “Recovery and recycling of materials” and “Advanced technologies for recycling of materials” in the Master’s program in Environmental Engineering. Her research activity is mainly focused on the characterization and valorization of primary and secondary raw materials to improve industrial process performances and product quality and to develop innovative online sorting strategies based on different sensing techniques. She has been a member of SPIE—The International Society for Optics and Photonics—since 2016 (“lifetime”) and of IWWG-International Waste Working Group since 2013.
