The paper considers the possibility of guiding forces reducing and angle of attack minimizing during the movement of a rail vehicle in curved sections of the track with the help of modern control systems. The object is process of rail vehicles movement controlling. It is suggested to use mechatronic control systems for the position of wheel pairs in the horizontal plane for their radial installation in curved track sections for optimal interaction between the railway wheels and rails with achievement of minimum lateral forces and reducing wear. A particularity of such systems is the processing of signals from the global positioning satellite receiver, the inertial unit and the acoustic emission sensor in accordance with the levels at which the control action is generated for opening or closing the corresponding electromagnetic valves. Signal processing should be carried out in real time. It is noted that the probability of failure in the software of such systems should be very small. Only if these requirements are met it can be achieved the reliability of the mechatronic system built on these principles, as well as efficiency of the received information and the guaranteed execution of the command information. Proposed the wheel pairs position mechatronic active control system allows to optimally install them in the rail track under various driving conditions of the railway transport. The results of calculations made on the example of movement along the curve of a three-axle diesel locomotive 2TE116 bogie is showed the possibility of significantly reducing the guiding forces and minimizing the wheelpairs angle of attack.

The aim of the work is to reduce the train rolling resistance to movement the railway vehicles. The article proves the expediency of changing the constructive scheme of railway vehicle wheel, which allows independent rotation their wheel mounting surface rolling and the guide surface (flange). There has been carried out the classification and analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of various structural schemes wheels of the railway vehicles. There has been analyzed the Features resistance to movement wheels of traditional and perspective constructive scheme. The obtained results allow drawing a conclusion about the possibility of a significant reduction in train rolling resistance to movement of railway vehicles with wheels perspective constructive scheme.

Urban railway vehicles are important means of transport in towns and cities due to their high capacity, power source, and low running resistance, which make them efficient for operation. Although these properties are considered advantages, there is still room for improvement in their operational efficiency. The main objective of this article is to investigate the impact of railway wheel design on the level of kinematic running resistance, which is expressed as the amount of mechanical energy losses during the interaction of wheels with rails. This research focuses on simulation computations of two variants of wheel design schemes: the traditional design scheme (TKS) and a perspective design scheme (PKS) characterized by a rotating flange independently of the wheel tread surface. Two undercarriage multibody models have been created, one with TKS and one with PKS, and simulation computations have been performed for running speeds of 10 km/h, 20 km/h, 30 km/h, and 40 km/h on track models in curves with radii of 20, 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 m. The evaluated indicators affecting the level of mechanical energy losses were creep forces, slip velocities, and average power. The most important findings of this study are that the PKS design scheme resulted in lower values of all assessed parameters.
