Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of primary building information modelling (BIM)-related factors, extracted from the literature on the subject, on construction project performance.Design/methodology/approach: Based on data collected from 134 BIM users, this study used structural equation modelling to assess the impact of these factors in five main BIM-related factor clusters.Findings: The results of the analysis confirmed the reliability and validity of the research design and outcomes. The findings indicated that the BIM-related external factors cluster is the most influential cluster affecting construction project performance. BIM-related project factors and BIM-related technological factors also had a significant impact on project performance. These were followed by the BIM-related management factors cluster, while the BIM-related human factors cluster had a low impact on project performance.Research limitations/implications: This study will contribute to fostering BIM adoption and implementation in the construction industry in developing countries.Originality/value: This study has filled a crucial knowledge gap by providing information on manageable primary BIM-related factors affecting construction project performance.

Construction design consultancy is not only a professional activity but also a lever to bring significant economic and technical efficiency to society. The data for the study was collected by survey questionnaires and analyzed using the sampling investigation method. Participants in the study were chosen based on their previous construction consulting experience in Vietnam (designers, employees in construction consultation companies, owners of consultation companies. The criteria for assessing the capacity of construction design consultation companies were defined in this study, as well as the elements that affect the capacity of this type of organization. According to the findings, there are eight major high-to-low sorting criteria affecting the capability of construction design consultancy firms: Customers’ needs, scientific and technological progress; organizational and management mechanisms; machinery and technology equipment; Financial capacity; Human Resources; Marketing activities and Institutional environment and the Government macroeconomic policies. The research result makes important contributions both in term of science and practice in design consultancy and construction consultancy in general.

Currently, the paint market in the world is constantly developing with many improvements in science, technology and technical transfer to offer many good quality paint samples. In Vietnam, the 4th science and technology transfer has resulted in a sample of silicate paint with outstanding properties produced using materials available in Vietnam, contributing to promoting the development of silicate paint. Developing the domestic paint industry. On that basis, by forecasting the development trend of silicate paint production technology in the market in Vietnam, it will forecast the development of the paint industry in the next few years. Through the assumed specific figures, the forecasting model is built on the basis of specific arithmetic formulas and model graphs. From there, the most optimal development trend equation is proposed to be used to evaluate the development of silicate paint production technology in the paint market in Vietnam. The research results will contribute to the actual development of the paint industry today in Vietnam and be an important reference for further development studies.

This study identifies the key competencies considered important for construction professionals and examines differences in their perceived importance across work-experience groups. A literature review and expert review informed a questionnaire comprising 24 competencies, which was completed by 235 construction professionals in Vietnam. Descriptive statistics, Welch’s ANOVA, Benjamini–Hochberg false-discovery-rate control, Games–Howell comparisons, effect-size estimation, and focused covariate-adjusted sensitivity analyses were used. The results reveal five key findings. Fundamental professional competencies, including work attitude, work motivation, problem-solving, work management, analytical skills, and work discipline, ranked highly across the sample. Digital competencies, including knowledge of modern construction technologies and proficiency in construction software, were also considered important, although several professional and managerial competencies ranked higher. Perceived competency priorities differed significantly across work-experience groups. Respondents with 16–20 years of experience assigned comparatively lower importance to several competency areas, producing a distinctive mid-career priority pattern rather than evidence of lower actual competence. The resulting career-stage competency framework summarizes these experience-differentiated priorities and informs professional development, engineering education, and workforce training. Because the survey is cross-sectional and measures perceived importance rather than proficiency, the framework represents differences among experience groups rather than a longitudinal competency-maturity trajectory.
