Aiming at the problem that the path search rules in the traditional path planning methods are divorced from the actual maneuverability of an unmanned surface vehicle (USV), a motion planning method of state prediction rapidly exploring random tree (spRRT) is proposed. This method retains the discrete search of the original rules of RRT while adding the continuity of the motion of USV. Firstly, the state information for each movement (position, yaw angle, velocity, etc.), is calculated based on the mathematical model of USV’s motion which takes into account the complete dynamic constraints. Secondly, this information is added to the RRT path search rules to predict the state points that can be reached by the USV. Furthermore, in order to improve search efficiency and reduce cost, spRRT is enhanced by an elliptic sampling domain (spRRT-Informed). The simulation results indicate that spRRT can effectively plan smooth paths for smoothly navigating USV. The inclusion of the USV motion model has improved steering performance by an average of over 40%. Additionally, the spRRT-Informed enhanced with sampling optimization strategy improves performance by at least 10% over spRRT in terms of sailing time and distance of the path. The results of the simulation conducted in a realistic scenario validate that spRRT-Informed can be used as a reference for practical applications.

In order to realize accurate and fast firefighting at sea, a control method for water cannons of unmanned fireboats considering wind and ship motion disturbances is presented. This method combines information fusion, computer vision, and prediction technology based on neural network. Firstly, a prediction model of the jet trajectory of the fire water cannon considering the disturbances of constant horizontal wind is established, and the effective range of the water cannon’s angles under the target working environment is obtained. Secondly, fusing the visual recognition information and predicted ship motion attitudes information, a double adaptive fuzzy controller is designed to compensate for the disturbances caused by the change in ship motion attitudes. Meanwhile, the online particle swarm optimization (PSO) is applied to fuzzy control to improve operational accuracy while enhancing the ability to adapt to environmental changes. The proposed control method was experimentally verified. As a result, the adaptive fuzzy controller based on the PSO can self-adjust the parameters to adapt to the changes in the working environment within 0.6 s, and the efficiency is improved by about 20%∼50% compared with the traditional fuzzy control. The double adaptive fuzzy control can reach a stable and effective working state within 10 simulation steps, and the RMSE of the drop point error is only 3 ×10−3 m for 40 simulation steps after stabilization, which can effectively resist disturbances and improve efficiency and control accuracy. The control method can provide a practical reference for engineering applications of water cannon control of unmanned fireboats.

Energy management in ship integrated power systems (IPSs) requires real-time dispatch of diesel generators, battery storage, and shore power under strict operational constraints. Existing deep reinforcement learning (DRL) approaches are economically competitive but cannot guarantee that device constraints are satisfied during training or deployment. This paper proposes MA-SRL, a safe reinforcement learning framework for ship IPSs that couples an execution-layer Safe Projection Layer (SPL) with a training-stage Lyapunov-based policy update. The SPL projects each raw action onto the feasible set of the current mode before execution, whenever that set is non-empty, and quantifies the departure as a constraint-cost signal that drives a Mode-Dependent Constrained Markov Decision Process (MD-CMDP), making feasibility observable to the learner. The Lyapunov update is designed to control the expected discounted constraint cost through a budget condition during training. Under the nominal scenario, this signal drives the raw policy close to the feasible set, lowering constraint violation by 2.2–6.0× and cost by 7.7–16.9% over DRL baselines, with the lowest constraint violation retained under storm conditions. The same architecture and settings are replicated on a second vessel, plant, route, and operating profile, attaining the lowest cost and constraint violation of all compared methods, and sustaining the lowest distance shortfall and unmet load under a single-generator-loss contingency.
