Background: Our study was conducted to determine the impact of scabies in people living in collective living areas such as tent cities and container cities after the February 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes and to show the effectiveness of oral ivermectin treatment on scabies cases because topical treatments could not be used in this period when access to water was limited. Methods: Among 233 patients diagnosed and treated with scabies in tent and container cities, 192 patients who met the criteria were included in the study. Descriptive statistics were given as number (n), percentage (%), mean, median, standard deviation (SD). In the comparison of categorical data, the chi-square test was applied; in the comparison of numerical data ANOVA analyses was applied. Results: A total of 192 scabies patients (82.4%), 47.9% (N:92) of whom were women, were included in the study. The frequency of scabies in the total population in tent cities and container cities was found to be at least 0.54%. The most common symptoms were pruritis (99.0%) and rash (97.9%). The most common sites of lesion involvement were the umbilicus (87.0.%), forearm (75.0%), and back (70.3%). After the first dose of ivermectin, 159 (82.8%) patients showed complete recovery, while 30 (15.6%) patients showed partial recovery. 3 (1.6%) patients showed no improvement. After the second dose of ivermectin, 173 (90.1%) patients showed complete recovery. There were two (1.0%) patients who did not show improvement after two doses. Due to the deterioration of urban infrastructure after devastating earthquakes, the irregularity of mass living areas, the lack of hygiene conditions, and the difficulty of accessing clean, usable water, oral ivermectin may be the first choice for treatment in terms of ease of use and effectiveness.

Objective: Vaccine rejection is an important issue affecting human health. As social media platforms are the easiest and most accessible means of accessing information on health, their use has increased significantly. YouTube, is a frequently used video source on health at the global level. We aimed to evaluate the quality of the most watched YouTube videos for COVID-19 vaccine rejection. Methods: The key terms 'COVID vaccine rejection', 'COVID vaccine side effect', 'COVID vaccine refuse' was used for the videos. The reliability of the videos was assessed using the modified DISCERN scale. The Global Quality Scale (GQS) was used to evaluate the videos in terms of vaccine information. According to the results of the scale, the videos were divided into three groups as good/excellent quality, moderate quality and poor quality. Results: The videos were 30.4% (n=21) of good/excellent quality, 34.8% (n=24) of moderate quality, and 34.8% (n=24) of poor quality. Good/excellent videos had a significantly higher median DISCERN score (p<0.01). There was no significant difference between daily median views (p=0.779), daily comments (p=0.148) and likes rates (p=0.551) according to video quality. Conclusion: E-source; Youtube contains a significant amount of data on health-related services. However, some of this information is inaccurate or of insufficient quality. Physicians should warn their patients when using digital resources, direct them to the right resources, and demonstrate the importance of digital resource evaluation.

The proceeding 2022 multicountry epidemic of Monkeypox emerges as a global health concern. The first death outside of Africa appeared in Brazil on July 29, 2022, and the first death in Europe occurred in Spain on July 29, 2022. As a result, the World Health Organization announced the monkeypox epidemic as a global public health emergency on July 2022. Therefore, we aimed to present a review in light of contemporary facts. We conducted a review of current details on Monkeypox. Close contact is the best-known risk factor for human-to-human transmission; a pregnant woman can pass the virus to the fetus. The approximative incubation period is 10-14 days. Prodromal symptoms are fever, malaise, chills, and lymphadenopathy. Then clinicians observe that rash develops in most patients. Monkeypox usually takes 2-4 weeks on its own. The plurality of monkeypox patients recovers without treatment. However, some patients with complications may need treatment. Children, pregnant women, and immunocompromised individuals may develop a longer disease because of eye infections, pneumonia, and encephalitis. Physicians use anamnesis, clinical signs, and laboratory tests to diagnose infection. Infected animals and patients should be quarantined. There is no specific vaccine still. Nevertheless, the smallpox vaccine protects 85% against monkeypox, according to early reports. Antiviral drugs, Tecovirimat, Cidofovir, Brincidofovir, and Human Vaccinia Immune Globulin, can potentially treat. Our review centers on clinical knowledge for the efficacious management, prevention, and guidance of monkeypox responders and patients globally.

Objective: This study aims to examine the level of vitamin B12 according to trimesters in the pregnant population, to investigate its relationship with malnutrition in cases of insufficiency and deficiency, and to start supplementation with early diagnosis.Material and Methods: Sociodemographic survey data, ultrasonography data, hemogram, biochemistry and vitamin B12 levels of pregnant women who applied to the department of obstetrics and gynecology of a reginal university hospital were examined. SPSS 22.0 statistics program was used to evaluate the data. P<0.05 was considered significant. Results: Two hundred and fifty pregnant women were included in our study. The mean age was 26.42±5.86 (18-40 years). The mean vitamin B12 level of the participants was 214.45±83.99 ng/ml (80-656). According to the postoc duncan test, the vitamin B12 levels of the participants showed a significant difference with the 1st trimester 2 and 3 (p<0.05), while the 2nd and 3rd trimesters did not show a significant difference in themselves (p=0.968). When compared according to socioeconomic levels, vitamin B12 levels of the group with a monthly income of 3001 turkish lira and above was found to be 228.336±63.665 ng/ml,and the group with a monthly income of 3000 turkish lira and below was 199.016±45.630 ng/ml. There was a significant difference between the two groups (p<0.05). Considering the relationship between vitamin B12 levels and nutritional deficiency, vitamin B12 levels were found 268.27±86.96 ng/ml in the group consuming full and/or half servings of animal food daily, and 166.34±41.60 ng/ml in those consuming and/or not consuming a quarter serving. When the two groups were compared with each other, a significant difference was found (p<0.05).Conclusion: Vitamin and mineral balance during pregnancy is very important for maternal and fetal health. Vitamin B12 deficiency and/or insufficiency are in considerable numbers. When necessary, the individual should be trained in terms of proper nutrition immediately with early diagnosis. Supportive treatment from folic acid-vitamin B12 combined drugs should be considered in essential cases according to the profit-loss ratio.

Objective: This study was to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and behaviors of family physicians working during the pandemic in terms of pulmonary rehabilitation for post-COVID patients, and to raise awareness of any deficiencies. Material and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted on family physicians working in the city centre of Kahramanmaraş during the COVID-19 pandemic. A 21-item questionnaire was created by scanning the relevant literature information to be applied to the participants. SPSS 22.0 statistical program was used to evaluate the data. P<0.05 was considered significant. Results: Those who use correct resources showed statistically significant differences in the responses to certain issues (p<0.05). These include pulmonary rehabilitation for post-COVID patients, the state of need (p=0.030), an increase in muscle strength and endurance (p=0.05), improvement in the quality of life (p=0.018), regular exercise and breathing being just as important as muscle training (p=0.043), rehabilitation of patients at the hospital (p=0.006), explanation of the necessity of rehabilitation to patients (p=0.000), recommendation of rehabilitation programs (p=0.023), suggestion of appropriate visual materials for the situation (p=0.037), and the benefit of follow-up for patients included in the program (p=0.000). Conclusion: There is a lack of knowledge, attitude and behaviour of family physicians about the pulmonary rehabilitation of post-COVID patients. Accordingly, it causes problems in treatment referral and follow-up regarding pulmonary rehabilitation.
