Work experience: Sanjay Kumar Khattri is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences in Haugesund, Norway. With over two decades in academia, he has guided over 40 theses across the Ph.D., Master's, and Bachelor’s level, focusing on the disciplines of fire sciences and applied mathematics. Since 2006, he has been with Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, with concurrent roles as a Safety Representative and Leader of the Tunnel Fire Safety Group from 2020 and 2018, respectively. His past affiliations include Polytec, Odin Petroleum, The University of Bergen, Texas A&M University, Gexcon, and Essar Oil Refinery. Professor Khattri serves as a Springer Book Series Editor for Fire Safety Engineering and Management. He is frequently an invited speaker at global events, notably a recent IEEE webinar discussing tunnel fire emergency optimization using Computational Fluid Dynamics. Recognized for his computational mechanics research, he received the Young Researcher Fellowship Award from MIT, USA, and serves as an editor for several international journals. Education background: Sanjay Kumar Khattri, currently a Professor, earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from The University of Bergen, Norway (2003-2006). He obtained his M.S. from Texas A & M University (2001-2003) and a B.Tech. from The Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi, India (1994-1998).
