The paper presents the full-size Russian corpus of Internet users’ reviews on medicines with complex named entity recognition (NER) labeling of pharmaceutically relevant entities. We evaluate the accuracy levels reached on this corpus by a set of advanced deep learning neural networks for extracting mentions of these entities. The corpus markup includes mentions of the following entities: medication (33,005 mentions), adverse drug reaction (1778), disease (17,403), and note (4490). Two of them—medication and disease—include a set of attributes. A part of the corpus has a coreference annotation with 1560 coreference chains in 300 documents. A multi-label model based on a language model and a set of features has been developed for recognizing entities of the presented corpus. We analyze how the choice of different model components affects the entity recognition accuracy. Those components include methods for vector representation of words, types of language models pre-trained for the Russian language, ways of text normalization, and other pre-processing methods. The sufficient size of our corpus allows us to study the effects of particularities of annotation and entity balancing. We compare our corpus to existing ones by the occurrences of entities of different types and show that balancing the corpus by the number of texts with and without adverse drug event (ADR) mentions improves the ADR recognition accuracy with no notable decline in the accuracy of detecting entities of other types. As a result, the state of the art for the pharmacological entity extraction task for the Russian language is established on a full-size labeled corpus. For the ADR entity type, the accuracy achieved is 61.1% by the F1-exact metric, which is on par with the accuracy level for other language corpora with similar characteristics and ADR representativeness. The accuracy of the coreference relation extraction evaluated on our corpus is 71%, which is higher than the results achieved on the other Russian-language corpora.

A new quantitative approach to identifying emotionally colored texts that reflect the excited state of its authors is proposed. This approach uses special psycholinguistic markers of text based on morphological characters ratios of Russian language. To apply such markers the morphological parser in combination with an ensemble of SVM classifiers was developed. Testing results of selected topics texts are presented. The study was conducted using texts from different sources such as news, regular blogs, microblogs, social network posts. It showed that results of developed approach can be a useful extension of Big Data methods of traditional sentiment analysis and it can be applicable to developing methods of personality computing.

Nowadays, the analysis of digital media aimed at prediction of the society’s reaction to particular events and processes is a task of a great significance. Internet sources contain a large amount of meaningful information for a set of domains, such as marketing, author profiling, social situation analysis, healthcare, etc. In the case of healthcare, this information is useful for the pharmacovigilance purposes, including re-profiling of medications. The analysis of the mentioned sources requires the development of automatic natural language processing methods. These methods, in turn, require text datasets with complex annotation including information about named entities and relations between them. As the relevant literature analysis shows, there is a scarcity of datasets in the Russian language with annotated entity relations, and none have existed so far in the medical domain. This paper presents the first Russian-language textual corpus where entities have labels of different contexts within a single text, so that related entities share a common context. therefore this corpus is suitable for the task of belonging to the medical domain. Our second contribution is a method for the automated extraction of entity relations in Russian-language texts using the XLM-RoBERTa language model preliminarily trained on Russian drug review texts. A comparison with other machine learning methods is performed to estimate the efficiency of the proposed method. The method yields state-of-the-art accuracy of extracting the following relationship types: ADR–Drugname, Drugname–Diseasename, Drugname–SourceInfoDrug, Diseasename–Indication. As shown on the presented subcorpus from the Russian Drug Review Corpus, the method developed achieves a mean F1-score of 80.4% (estimated with cross-validation, averaged over the four relationship types). This result is 3.6% higher compared to the existing language model RuBERT, and 21.77% higher compared to basic ML classifiers.

An algorithm of finding documents on a given topic based on a selected reference collection of documents along with creating context-semantic graph for visualizing themes in search results is presented. The algorithm is based on integration of set of probabilistic, entropic, and semantic markers for extractions of weighted key words and combinations of words, which describe the given topic. Test results demonstrate an average precision of 99% and the recall of 84% on expert selection of documents. Also developed special approach to constructing graph on base of algorithms that extract key phrases with weights. It gives the possibility to demonstrate a structure of subtopics in large collections of documents in compact graph form.

A study of possibility to model the learning process on base of different forms of timing-dependent plasticity (STDP) was performed. It is shown that the learning ability depends on the choice of spike pairing scheme and the type of input signal used for learning. The comparison of performance of several STDP rules along with several neuron models (leaky integrate-and-fire, static, Izhikevich and Hodgkin-Huxley) was carried out using the NEST simulator. The combinations of input signal and STDP spike pairing scheme, which demonstrate the best learning abilities, were extracted.
