The purpose of the paper is to carry out a comparative analysis of modern eco-productive technologies for logging timber in relation to classical technologies. The paper aims to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each approach, to examine their impact on the environment and the efficiency of the harvesting and collection processes. The present work has an applicative character, it is based on real data taken from the Forest District of Izvorul Someșului Mare, in which the analysis of the collection variants and the technical-economic project regarding the logging timber mass in the felling area are presented, depending on the characteristics of the working conditions in the felling area. The analysis was carried out in the felling area 2027 Ciungi, Forest District of Izvorul Someșului Mare, Bistrița-Năsăud County, consisting of compartments 109A, 109B and 110A. In the case of modern technologies, the KMS Konrad mobile tower cableway-skidder and Woodliner Konrad self-propelled carriage were used, Ponsse HS-15 and Ponsse Bison S-15 equipment, and for the classic ones, the skidding technology and the 2012 articulated forestry tractor were used.

In recent decades, research on the effects of physical fields– particularly electric and magnetic– on biological processes in plants has developed significantly. These fields can influence seed germination, cellular activity, and the subsequent development of seedlings, offering innovative perspectives in agriculture and forestry. The present study evaluated the impact of electric and magnetic fields on spruce seeds, with the aim of improving germination rates and seedling growth. For the electric field, three voltages (10V, 30V, 50V) and two exposure times (15 and 35 minutes) were tested. The most effective combination was 10V for 35 minutes, while the 50V- 15 minutes’ variant had negative effects. The highest seedling height was obtained at 10V 15minutes. In the case of the magnetic field, the seeds were exposed to three different times intervals- 10, 20, and 30 minutes- at an intensity of 0.22 × 10⁻³ T. A 20-minutes exposure resulted in the highest germination rate and produced seedlings with significantly greater heights compared to the control and other variants. The results demonstrate the positive effect of using physical fields as an ecological and efficient method for stimulating germination and plant development, offering valuable applications in forest regeneration and the production of high-quality seedlings.

This narrative review evaluates the multi-scalar ecotoxicological capacity of the guppy (Poecilia reticulata) as an integrative model organism for monitoring endocrine-disrupting chemicals and establishing sustainable water-quality assessment protocols. By virtue of its distinct biological attributes, including vivid sexual dimorphism, viviparous reproduction, and a thoroughly mapped behavioral repertoire, this teleost species uniquely bridges the interpretive gap between sub-organismal molecular changes and broad individual reproductive fitness. The synthesized evidence demonstrates that diverse contaminant classes, ranging from legacy steroidal estrogens and antiandrogenic pesticides to industrial organotins and emerging per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), provoke mechanism-specific toxicities that disrupt hepatic vitellogenin production and neuroendocrine brain aromatase pathways. These physiological initiating events directly propagate into diminished sperm motility, degraded secondary sexual ornamentation, altered courtship tactics, and distorted population sex ratios. Furthermore, this review addresses the applied utility of P. reticulata bioassays in measuring the net ecological hazards of complex industrial wastewaters and chemical mixtures. Ultimately, the work situates the guppy within modernized, tiered environmental monitoring frameworks that pair targeted chemical profiling with animal-sparing New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), thereby reinforcing resource-efficient and ethically sustainable strategies for protective global water management.
