Prof. Dong-Weon Lee received his Ph.D. in mechatronics engineering in 2001 from Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan. He has been a professor of mechanical engineering at Chonnam National University, Republic of Korea, since 2004. Previously, he was with the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory in Switzerland, working mainly on microcantilever devices for chemical AFM applications. His research interests include smart cantilever devices, miniaturized energy harvesters, smart structures, and materials for biomedical applications. He serves on the technical program committees of the IEEE MEMS Conference, the IEEE Sensors Conference, the Transducers Conference, and the Microprocessors and Nanotechnology Conference, among others.
