Dr. Mariia Galaburda, currently a Research Associate at the Laboratory of Oxide Nanocomposites, Chuiko Institute of Surface Chemistry of NAS of Ukraine, is a researcher specializing in the area of the synthesis and application of carbon-based nanomaterials and nanocomposites. She obtained a PhD in Surface Chemistry in 2014 with work focused on the synthesis, physicochemical characterization, and applications of metal oxide nanoparticles in the silica matrix. Since 2014, she has been working on the production of novel functional carbon-based materials, doped with different metal nanoparticles for application as adsorbents of toxic pollutants from air and water, to isolate and concentrate explosives, as well as to generate materials with improved performance in electrochemical applications.
