For the development of light, flexible, and wearable electronic devices, it is crucial to develop energy storage components combining high capacity and flexibility. Herein, an all-solid-state supercapacitor is prepared through an in situ growth method. The electrode contains polyaniline deposited on a carbon nanotube and a poly (ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) film. The hybrid electrode exhibits excellent mechanical and electrochemical performance. The optimized few-layer polyaniline wrapping layer provides a conductive network that effectively enhances the cycling stability, as 66.4% of the starting capacitance is maintained after 3000 charge/discharge cycles. Furthermore, the polyaniline (PANI)-50 displays the highest areal energy density of 83.6 mWh·cm−2, with an areal power density of 1000 mW·cm−2, and a high areal capacity of 620 mF cm−2. The assembled device delivers a high areal capacity (192.3 mF·cm−2) at the current density of 0.1 mA·cm−2, a high areal energy (26.7 mWh·cm−2) at the power density of 100 mW·cm−2, and shows no significant decrease in the performance with a bending angle of 180°. This unique flexible supercapacitor thus exhibits great potential for wearable electronics.
An elevator is a typical flexible lifting machine. In order to monitor the vibration of elevator structure, the vibration characteristics of an elevator with a traction ratio of 1:1 has been tested experimentally. Sensors were arranged on the platform frame, car roof, and hoist rope to test the vibrations of the elevator in both ascending and descending conditions. The transverse, longitudinal, and coupled transverse-longitudinal vibrations were compared and analyzed. Further, the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) method was used to examine the power spectral density (PSD) of the test results, and the main frequency distribution and influencing factors of the vibration of elevator components were investigated. The results revealed that the transverse and longitudinal vibrations of the platform frame were low-frequency vibrations, which was attributed to the elastic interaction between the platform frame and the car frame. The form and amplitude of longitudinal vibration of the car frame were basically consistent with those of the platform frame, but PSD of the transverse vibration had an obvious peak in the high-frequency region. The transverse and longitudinal vibration frequencies of the hoist rope were higher. Furthermore, the peak PSD value of transverse vibration of the hoist rope was 421 times larger than that of the car frame, so a small disturbance at the end of the rope could lead to a huge disturbance in the center of the rope. Overall, this study provides useful insights on designing an elevator monitoring sensor and relevant data processing.
In this work, we present a cellulose acetate membrane flexible supercapacitor prepared through a direct writing method. A carbon nanotube (CNT) and silver (Ag) nanoparticle were prepared into ink for direct writing. The composite electrode displayed excellent electrochemical and mechanical electrochemical performance. Furthermore, the CNT-Ag displayed the highest areal capacity of 72.8 F/cm3. The assembled device delivered a high areal capacity (17.68 F/cm3) at a current density of 0.5 mA/cm2, a high areal energy (9.08–5.87 mWh/cm3) at a power density of 1.18–0.22 W/cm3, and showed no significant decrease in performance with a bending angle of 180°. The as-fabricated CNT/Ag electrodes exhibited good long-term cycling stability after 1000 time cycles with 75.92% capacitance retention. The direct writing was a simple, cost-effective, fast, and non-contact deposition method. This method has been used in current printed electronic devices and has potential applications in energy storage.

In order to study the dynamic characteristics of the elevator, the response characteristics of the elevator under normal operation and emergency braking conditions are analyzed. In this paper, the centralized mass discretization model is used to study the vibration characteristics of the elevator traction system under the external excitation. Firstly, the vibration equation of the elevator multi-degrees-of-freedom (abbreviated as DOF) system is established. Then, the vibration characteristics of the three DOF system are analyzed, and the natural frequencies and modes are obtained. The free vibration equation and forced vibration equation are obtained, and the theoretical solutions are obtained. Finally, the test method proposed in this paper is used to test the normal operation and emergency braking of the elevator. The test results show that, under normal operation conditions, the measured speed and distance errors are not more than 4.2%, the up running distance measured by the elevator is larger than the actual value, while the down running distance is smaller than the actual value; under emergency braking condition, because the steel wire rope can only bear the pulling force, the peak acceleration fluctuation in the up emergency braking process is large, while the down emergency braking acceleration fluctuation is small. Therefore, the elevator vibration analysis model and the vibration test method proposed in this paper can be used for the analysis of elevator dynamic performance, which has great reference value for the safety performance research of the elevator traction system.
Due to the higher thermal and moisture expansions of epoxy coatings than the rigid substrate, these coatings suffer from high thermal and hygroscopic stresses, leading to coating/substrate interfacial crack growth. Herein, a parametric study was conducted systematically on epoxy coatings incorporated with fillers, in order to understand their effects on coating/substrate interface delamination caused by thermal and hygroscopic stresses. A finite element model (FEM) was developed to determine an indicator J-integral value (Ji), in comparison with a critical JC value to interpret the obtained interface delamination experimental results. FE simulations showed that interfacial pre-cracks located at coating edges were more serious than those at the centre. Once delamination was triggered by thermal shock or moisture absorption, it propagated rapidly along the coating/substrate interface. However, by adding suitable micro-/nano-fillers to the coating the thermal and hygroscopic stresses give lower Ji values, so that delamination crack growth can be effectively controlled. The simulation results demonstrate that the incorporation of fillers with lower Young’s modulus, lower thermal expansion and moisture absorption coefficients, smaller size for soft fillers, larger size for rigid fillers, and suitable aspect ratios for rod-shape fillers to the coatings, are more effective against interface delamination. Hence, useful guidelines for improving the design of epoxy composite coatings against delamination growth can be obtained for different engineering applications.
