COVID-19 is a life threatening disease which has a enormous global impact. As the cause of the disease is a novel coronavirus whose gene information is unknown, drugs and vaccines are yet to be found. For the present situation, disease spread analysis and prediction with the help of mathematical and data driven model will be of great help to initiate prevention and control action, namely lockdown and qurantine. There are various mathematical and machine-learning models proposed for analyzing the spread and prediction. Each model has its own limitations and advantages for a particluar scenario. This article reviews the state-of-the art mathematical models for COVID-19, including compartment models, statistical models and machine learning models to provide more insight, so that an appropriate model can be well adopted for the disease spread analysis. Furthermore, accurate diagnose of COVID-19 is another essential process to identify the infected person and control further spreading. As the spreading is fast, there is a need for quick auotomated diagnosis mechanism to handle large population. Deep-learning and machine-learning based diagnostic mechanism will be more appropriate for this purpose. In this aspect, a comprehensive review on the deep learning models for the diagnosis of the disease is also provided in this article.

Adulteration in milk is a common scenario for gaining extra profit, which may cause severe harmful effects on humans. The qualitative spectroscopic technique provides a better solution for detecting the toxic contents of milk and foodstuffs. All the available spectroscopic methods for milk adulterant detection are based on laboratory-based with costly equipment. This laboratory-based detection takes a long time and is more expensive, which may not be afforded by a common man. To overcome this issue, this research work involves the design and development of a low-cost, portable, multispectral, AI-based, non-destructive spectroscopic sensor system that can be used to detect the milk adulterant in real-time. The designed sensor system uses the spectroscopic method with wavelength ranges from (410-940nm) which consists of three different bands Ultraviolet (UV), visible, and Infra-Red(IR) spectrum to improve the accuracy of detection. The sensor system is connected to the internet via the developed IoT application module, which displays the detected adulterant results in a dedicated web page designed for this purpose. This IoT application enables the adulterant detected results published on the internet immediately with location information for bringing transparency. Adulterant detection problem is formulated as a classification problem and solved by machine learning algorithms of a decision tree, Naive Bayes, linear discriminant analysis, support vector machine and neural network model. The average accuracy of linear discriminant analysis, support vector machine, Naive Bayes, decision tree and neural network model are obtained as 88.1%, 90%, 90%, 91.7% and 92.7% respectively. Genetic algorithm framework is formulated for hyperparameter tuning of neural network model which improved the accuracy from 92.7% to 100%. The model is trained for five different classes of four adulterants, namely Sodium Salicylate, Dextrose, Hydrogen Peroxide, Ammonium Sulphate, and one pure milk sample.

Having a keen observation and recognizing patterns in minute things is an arduous task in today’s fast-paced world. These patterns might contain information that might be of significance to humans. In order to harness these regularities and to predict the activities in the near future, there exists numerous Artificial Neural Network architectures that have high degrees of accuracy. The drawback? These architectures demand GPUs with high processing capabilities, which in turn increase the size of the overall system. Existing systems capable of processing Machine Learning algorithms are not economical, or are not portable. Combining the merits of mobility, and a state-of-the-art You Only Look Once(YOLOv3) object detection system, we present to you, a Smart Glass, capable of highly accurate binary classification of data in real-time. Training the architecture with agricultural data, this wearable device would be able to identify Healthy and Unhealthy plant leaves in Real-time. Researchers could train the architecture with different datasets to obtain solutions to a wide variety of problems in the Agriculture, Healthcare, Automobile Industry, etc.
