Dr. Min Hu is a professor at Huazhong Agricultural University. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wuhan University School of Medicine and a Ph.D. in veterinary parasitology from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She hosted a number of national and provincial scientific research projects. She was awarded the “Peter Nansen” Young Scientist Award by the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP) and the title of “Chutian Scholar” Distinguished Professor by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education. She is the executive director of the 7th Council of the Veterinary Parasitology Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, an executive member of the 7th Committee of the Parasitology Professional Committee of the Hubei Preventive Medicine Association, a member of the 3rd Committee of the Tropical Diseases and Parasitology Branch of the Hubei Medical Association, a member of the Hubei Provincial Public Health Emergency Expert Advisory Committee, and the 1st Executive Member of the Parasitology Professional Committee of the Wuhan Preventive Medicine Association. Her research topics mainly include the mechanisms of parasitic helminth development regulation, genetics and epidemiology of parasitic nematode populations, drug resistance of Haemonchus contortus, and vaccine development.
