She is currently an associate professor at the University of Medellín, where she also serves as director of the Master's in Civil Engineering and member of the Doctorate in Engineering committee of the same institution. She has been a member of the Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction (CCCS) since 2010, participated in the board of directors and is currently part of the regional committee and the technical and education committees. She has been involved in construction projects and has worked to reduce resource consumption and solid waste management by applying circular economy principles to roads and construction projects. She contributes to several postgraduate educational activities, mainly focused on the supervision of Master and PhD students, as well as the teaching of sustainability management for postgraduate construction engineering.
