JOSE R. ESPINOZA received an Engineering degree in electronic engineering and an M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Concepción, Concepción, Chile, in 1989 and 1992, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, QC, Canada, in 1997. Since 2006, he has been a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Concepción, where he is engaged in teaching and research in the areas of automatic control and power electronics. He has authored and coauthored more than 150 refereed journals and conference papers and contributed to one chapter in the Power Electronics Handbook published in 2011 by Academic Press. He is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER ELECTRONICS and the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS.
