In mountain and ravine region of southwest China, several hydropower stations have been built in this area. It is the main national base for hydropower energy development, but under the influence of geological structure and surface erosion, the in-situ stress environment in this area is more complex. The main purpose of this paper is to establish the relationship between measured in-situ stress data and numerical calculation by means of neural network. Therefore, it can be used to analyze the distribution characteristics of large-scale in-situ stress and the failure of regional geological bodies under the action of in-situ stress in Xiluodu area. This paper analyzes the geological conditions and the measured data of in-situ stress in Xiluodu area. The results show that there is obvious surface weathering phenomenon in this area, the stress environment is complex. The depth has a positive impact on the level of in-situ stress, but the impact degree is different. The genetic algorithm-BP artificial neural networks (G-P) method is trained by the measured in-situ stress data. Based on the field measurement data, neural network algorithm and numerical simulation technology, the three-dimensional in-situ stress field distribution characteristics of the project area are carried out. The research shows that the scheme of combining the actual measurement, numerical analysis and neural network inversion is reliable; Depth is an important factor affecting the maximum horizontal stress value in Xiluodu area; Under the action of in-situ stress, the fissures of geological body are relatively developed, and three types of original water storage and flow spaces are formed before dam storage period; The flow and storage space of groundwater includes limestone fracture, basalt fracture and slope fracture aquifer; After the impoundment of the reservoir area, the reservoir water is transmitted downward through the vertical fissures, and finally the reservoir water forms a hydraulic connection with the groundwater. After impoundment, the hydrogeological conditions of the reservoir area would be changed.
The problem of shaft instability has always been a major difficulty in deep mining practices. The shaft fracture has a high probability of being located near the aquifers and the soft–hard rock contact zone. This paper describes the deformation and stress characteristics of surrounding rock and the shaft lining under the interactive geological conditions under soft and hard rock strata in Anju coal mine, Shandong Province, China. Using the Method of Geological Strength Index (GSI ) and considering the rock-softening characteristics of water, the parameters of rock mass are calibrated. By means of the 3DEC-trigon method, the variation characteristics of surrounding rock and the shaft lining are simulated. After shaft excavation, under the condition of no support, shear failure and tensile failure occur in shallow surrounding rock shafts, and a pressure relief zone is formed. Shear failure is the main destruction mode in deep surrounding rock. Because of the different strengths of the surrounding rock, the deformation of the surrounding rock is significantly different. After the surrounding rock is softened by water absorption, the difference is magnified. The maximum shear stress and plastic zone appear near the interface between soft and hard rock. Under the condition of shaft lining support, uneven deformation of surrounding rock surely leads to nonlinear variation of pressure on the shaft lining. Under the action of an inhomogeneous pressure field, partial shear failure occurs in the shaft lining, and the shear failure area increases after the surrounding rock is softened by water. Because of the nonlinear deformation of the shaft lining, it is easy to produce stress concentration and bending moment near the interface between hard and soft strata. The control methods of advance grouting and pressure relief excavation are proposed to improve the stability of the shaft, and a good effect is gained.
Muzhailing Highway Extra‐long Tunnel in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China, belongs to the soft rock tunnel in the extremely high geostress area. During the construction process, large deformation of the soft rock occurred frequently. Taking the no. 2 inclined shaft of Muzhailing tunnel as the research object, an NPR (negative Poisson’s ratio) constant resistance and large deformation anchor cable support system based on high prestress force, constant resistance, and releasing surrounding rock pressure was proposed. The characteristics of the surrounding rock under the steel arch support and NPR anchor cable support were compared and analyzed by using 3DEC software. A series of field tests were conducted in the no. 2 inclined shaft, and the rock strength, displacement of the surrounding rock, deep displacement of the surrounding rock, internal force of steel arch, and axial force of anchor cable were measured to study the application effect of the NPR anchor cable support system in tunnel engineering. Moreover, the 3DEC numerical simulation results were compared with the field test results. The research results show that the application of NPR constant resistance and large deformation anchor cable support system in tunnel engineering has achieved good results, and it plays a significant role in controlling the large deformation of the tunnel surrounding rock.
