Dr. Md. Aminul Islam is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Dr. Islam is currently working as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow in the Lab of Animal Products Chemistry, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. His research aimed to elucidate the epigenetic mechanisms of antiviral action of immunobiotic Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) using the LAB-rota virus coinfection model in the intestinal epithelial cell line derived from cattle and pigs. Dr. Islam earned his Ph.D. in immunogenomics from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bonn, Bonn, Germany. His Ph.D. project focused on integrated microRNA and mRNA transcriptome profiling of PBMCs following PRRS virus vaccination in pigs. His research interests focused on immunogenomics, epigenomics, and bioinformatics of infectious diseases. He gained the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) qualification from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Dr. Islam obtained two master's degrees; the first masters was from BAU, Bangladesh and the second masters was from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Belgium.
