In this letter, a new non-isolated high gain DC-DC converter topology is proposed to attain the high-voltage conversion ratio. The high-voltage conversion ratio is achieved without utilizing the coupled inductors and any transformers. The proposed topology utilizes a single power semiconductor switch and its operation is examined under continuous conduction mode (CCM), discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) and boundary conduction mode (BCM). The theoretical analysis and design procedure for passive components are provided with mathematical expressions. The validity of the theoretical analysis is examined by using a laboratory prototype of the proposed converter with a power rating of 200 W. The experimental results are taken under CCM with a 60% duty cycle. The proposed topology is also examined with dynamic changes in duty cycle value and load values. The efficiency and power density of the proposed converter are 90% and 1.03kW/L.

The rapid conversion of automotive accessory loads to the electrical domain demands a power converter to interface between the on‐board source and storage units with the accessories. This study proposes a simplified structure of dual input dual output (DIDO) with single‐stage power conversion for hybrid electric vehicle accessory applications. The topology is synthesised using pulsating source cells. The generic switch model‐based DIDO is realised with power switches based on switch realisation technique. Steady‐state and equivalent circuit models describing the converter structure are presented. Numerical simulations were performed with the state‐space averaged mathematical model. A one‐step‐ahead controller is used for inductor current control in conjunction with a mode selection logic to utilise its operating modes based on the availability of the sources and its protection. The performance of the proposed converter and its associated control scheme under steady‐state, transient conditions are corroborated by simulation and experimental results.

This article tries closed-loop using a sampled-data (SD) controller for a new nonisolated dc–dc converter to maintain the constant voltage. The developed nonisolated converter attains a higher voltage gain and reduced voltage stress across the power semiconductor switch. The converter topology provides a higher voltage gain (10) at a duty ratio of 0.6. The operation of the proposed converter is discussed in continuous conduction mode, discontinuous conduction mode, and boundary conduction mode. The performance of the converter is examined under open-loop and closed-loop conditions by changing the duty ratio and load values. An SD control increases the control performance in the closed-loop condition. The suggested Lyapunov functional can entirely use system data. Exponential stability criteria created by linear matrix inequalities are deduced using improved inequality techniques and some sufficient conditions. Average dwell time is calculated as a type of inequality considering the sample interval. A laboratory-based experimental prototype is designed to corroborate the performance of the proposed converter in open-loop and closed-loop operations during steady-state and dynamic conditions. The effectiveness of the developed converter is analyzed by comparing the voltage gain, the ratio of voltage stress to voltage gain, and the ratio of voltage gain to total component count with recently developed quadratic-based converters and nonquadratic-based converters. A component stress factor and switch device power are examined to showcase the voltage stress and power handling capability. Experimental results are closely matched with the theoretical calculations. The power density of the proposed converter is 1.02 kW/L.
Synthesis and Implementation of a Multi-Port DC/DC Converter for Hybrid Electric Vehicles DSP;Hybrid Electric Vehicle;Multiple Input Converter;Stateflow model;Synthesis;Ultracapacitor; A non-isolated Multiple Input Converter (MIC) with an input port, two storage ports and a load port is proposed. The synthesis of the proposed four port converter with its switch realization is presented. A steady state analysis of each operating mode with a small-signal model is derived, and a stability analysis is done. A mode selection controller is proposed to automatically choose a specific operating mode based on the voltage levels of the different source and storage units. In addition, a voltage control loop is used to regulate the output voltage. A 200W prototype is built with a TMS320F28027 DSP controller to test the feasibility of the operating modes. Simulation and experimental results show the ability of the proposed converter to handle multiple inputs either individually or simultaneously.
