The high coupling coefficient of a wireless charging coupler can improve the transmission efficiency. To obtain a higher coupling coefficient of double D (DD) coupler, the equivalent magnetic circuit and the expression of coupling coefficient are derived, giving some guidance for magnetic core optimization. A new core structure is designed and optimized for DD coils, and its performance is verified by 3-D finite element method simulation and experiments. Finally, a universal process is described to design and optimize core structures for different wireless charging couplers.

Intrauterine adhesion (IUA) presents a significant challenge in gynecology, characterized by excessive fibrosis and compromised reproductive function, leading to severe infertility. Although biocompatible hydrogels integrated with stem cells offer a promising approach for IUA therapy, clinical applications remain limited. Recent studies have highlighted the role of ferroptosis and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in IUA pathogenesis, yet strategies targeting ferroptosis through antioxidant stress are underexplored. This study investigates the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of a Ru-Single-Atom Nanozyme (Ru-SAN) incorporated into chitosan hydrogel for treating IUA. Ru-SAN, which mimics the enzyme activities of catalase, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione peroxidase, effectively clears excess ROS and shows promise in treating oxidative stress-induced diseases. The results demonstrate the superior antioxidative capabilities of Ru-SAN, significantly suppressing the ROS-ferroptosis cycle at the injury site. This creates a favorable microenvironment for post-injury repair by inhibiting inflammation, enhancing mesenchymal-to-epithelial transformation, promoting angiogenesis, and polarizing M2 macrophages. Importantly, it mitigates adverse repair outcomes from inflammation and excessive collagen fiber deposition, ultimately restoring uterine glandular structures and thickness, thereby achieving the ultimate goal of restoring fertility and live birth rates. In conclusion, our study delineates a pioneering therapeutic approach leveraging the antioxidant properties of Ru-SAN to target ferroptosis, thereby offering an efficacious treatment for IUA.

The neural tube is the primordium of the central nervous system (CNS) in which its development is not entirely clear. Understanding the cellular and molecular basis of neural tube development could, therefore, provide vital clues to the mechanism of neural tube defects (NTDs). Here, we investigated the gene expression profiles of three different time points (embryonic day (E) 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5) of mouse neural tube by using RNA‐seq approach. About 391 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened during mouse neural tube development, including 45 DEGs involved in CNS development, among which Bmp2, Ascl1, Olig2, Lhx1, Wnt7b and Eomes might play the important roles. Of 45 DEGs, Foxp2, Eomes, Hoxb3, Gpr56, Hap1, Nkx2‐1, Sez6l2, Wnt7b, Tbx20, Nfib, Cntn1 and Dcx had different isoforms, and the opposite expression pattern of different isoforms was observed for Gpr56, Nkx2‐1 and Sez6l2. In addition, alternative splicing, such as mutually exclusive exon, retained intron, skipped exon and alternative 3′ splice site was identified in 10 neural related differentially splicing genes, including Ngrn, Ddr1, Dctn1, Dnmt3b, Ect2, Map2, Mbnl1, Meis2, Vcan and App. Moreover, seven neural splicing factors, such as Nova1/2, nSR100/Srrm4, Elavl3/4, Celf3 and Rbfox1 were differentially expressed during mouse neural tube development. Interestingly, nine DEGs identified above were dysregulated in retinoic acid‐induced NTDs model, indicating the possible important role of these genes in NTDs. Taken together, our study provides more comprehensive information on mouse neural tube development, which might provide new insights on NTDs occurrence. © 2017 IUBMB Life, 69(9):706–719, 2017

This paper explores the synergistic role of Distributed Resources (DR), including Distributed Generation (DG) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), in enhancing modern power systems’ sustainability, reliability, and flexibility. It addresses the gap in concurrent distribution network reconfiguration and DR allocation, especially under the variability of renewable energy. The study aims to minimize energy costs, losses, and voltage deviations by integrating wind and solar PV-type DGs with BESS. A novel multi-objective function and an improved bi-directional coevolutionary (I-BiCo) Algorithm are employed to find the optimal RES and BESS placement and sizing, showing marked improvements over existing methods. Furthermore, statistical comparisons using hypervolume, objective function values (diversity), and near-global solutions (convergence) underscore the proposed algorithm’s superiority over existing MOEAs. The final non-dominated solution, obtained through fuzzy set theory, highlights simulation results that minimize power loss, achieve substantial energy savings, and smooth demand, particularly with the integration of BESS devices. Moreover, optimal network reconfiguration (ONR) is a key strategy for balancing load demand. Simulation results affirm that minimizing bi-objective and tri-objective functions, coupled with optimal feeder reconfiguration, significantly reduces power loss and enhances voltage profiles, approaching unity across all buses. The proposed ONR formulation, in conjunction with DGs and BESS, maximizes the overall performance of power distribution networks. Furthermore, the paper addresses various time-dependent constraints of BESS, DG, and ONR, formulating and efficiently solving these constraints by integrating different constraint-handling techniques with the proposed multi-objective evolutionary algorithm. The study contributes to academic discourse and provides practical insights for designing more efficient and sustainable power systems in the face of evolving energy landscapes.

Compared to the plug-in charging system, Wireless power transfer (WPT) is simpler, reliable, and user-friendly. Resonant inductive coupling based WPT is the technology that promises to replace the plug-in charging system. It is desired that the WPT system should provide regulated current and power with high efficiency. Due to the instability in the connected load, the system output current, power, and efficiency vary. To solve this issue, a buck converter is implemented on the secondary side of the WPT system, which adjusts its internal resistance by altering its duty cycle. To control the duty cycle of the buck converter, a discrete fast terminal sliding mode controller is proposed to regulate the system output current and power with optimal efficiency. The proposed WPT system uses the LCC-S compensation topology to ensure a constant output voltage at the input of the buck converter. The LCC-S topology is analyzed using the two-port network theory, and governing equations are derived to achieve the maximum efficiency point. Based on the analysis, the proposed controller is used to track the maximum efficiency point by tracking an optimal power point. An ultra-capacitor is connected as the system load, and based on its charging characteristics, an optimal charging strategy is devised. The performance of the proposed system is tested under the MATLAB/Simulink platform. Comparison with the conventionally used PID and sliding mode controller under sudden variations in the connected load is presented and discussed. An experimental prototype is built to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

The deployment of external wireless charging infrastructures for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has faced several challenges, including as the requirement for accurate location, the expensive nature of charging multiple loads, and the absence of system robustness. This article suggests a new spatial magnetic field configuration for transmitting coils in wireless power transfer systems to tackle these problems. The construction features a square base with a rhombus embedded inside it, along with four rectangular sides that are coiled in a noncrossing manner. This configuration ensures a consistent distribution of magnetic field in three dimensions. In order to guarantee that many UAVs are charged simultaneously without interfering with one another, the LCC -S topology is used to accomplish the characteristic of constant current at the main side and constant voltage at the output side. During UAV hovering, output dc–dc is combined with charge management to achieve hovering power supply and constant current charging with minimum size. The experimental results show that when the UAV hovers in the three-dimensional conical space volume above the WPT platform, it maintains a stable output power with an approximately constant 84.5% transmission efficiency. A video file demonstrating wireless charging testing for drones is attached to this article.
