Information

I received the Laurea Degree and the PhD in Physics from the Dipartimento di Fisica, University of Bari, Italy, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. I was at the same University as a Post-Doc, and then as a contract Researcher for the next two years. Permanent Research staff at CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) since 2001, I am presently with CNR - IREA (Istituto per il Rilevamento Elettromagnetico dell'Ambiente) as a Researcher. My research field concerns advanced processing techniques for remotely sensed data, and their applications to the retrieval of information about the Earth surface and to the monitoring of environmental hazards. I have a background on statistical characterization of both interferometric and polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR), and in the development of algorithm for radar interferometry (InSAR), persistent scatterers interferometry, and, more generally, multi-temporal image time series analysis. I have experience in GIS and remote sensing integration, and have worked in several projects involving development of applications for satellite data processing and ingestion into geographic data management tools. I am involved in several national and international projects on both SAR and optical data analysis, mainly focused on applications to environmental hazard modeling and management, including landslides, subsidence and other surface displacements, and floods.
