In today’s society, the environment is a frontier topic, and the topic of environmental sustainability has attracted attention. There are also many sustainable development ideas in the economic field. The main topic is circular economy, which is mainly to cultivate a harmonious coexistence environment for the development of man and nature by strengthening the construction of the ecological environment and ecological industries. Therefore, when solving environmental problems, we must adapt measures to local conditions and develop a circular economy to fundamentally solve the problems that have always existed between resources, environment and development. For regional economies, we must create new ideas on the road to industrialization and make full use of Resources provide a foundation for the realization of the overall construction goals of a well-off society in the near future, and contribute to the realization of grand goals. In this study, we will take the environmental problems in a certain area as an example, aiming at the environmental problems in the area and the goals of national policies for ecological environment construction, summarizing the content of existing research, and conducting a preliminary analysis of this content. A framework of thinking based on ecological environment quality evaluation is proposed. Technically, remote sensing and geographic information systems are used, and the survey results and research results summarized with sufficient reasons are used to conduct a single-factor analysis of the ecological environment in the area, and establish a relevant database of the ecological environment in the area. The focus of this article is to establish a complete set of evaluation system compared with the current situation and development of circular economy, and compared with foreign circular economy development models. The main contents include the evaluation of the reduction of resource input, the evaluation of the effect of resource recovery and reuse, the evaluation of the reduction of pollution emissions, the evaluation of the improvement of ecological environment quality, and the evaluation of the comprehensive development level of the socio-economic development of the area. On the basis of some evaluations, it is necessary to use the entropy method to make a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of regional economic development. The evaluation system of this article is relatively complete and comprehensive, integrating resources, environment and economic benefits.

Coupled and coordinated development is key to improving the level of regional urbanization and sustainable urban development and has important practical significance for solving a series of problems that arise in the process of rapid urbanization. First, from the perspective of system coupling, the development mechanism of the urbanization internal subsystems was deconstructed into five dimensions: population, land, economy, ecology and society. Second, based on data from 2017, the coupling coordination degree of urbanization in 13 cities in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region was measured using the entropy method and a coupling coordination model. Finally, the spatial differences in the levels of subsystem development, comprehensive development and coupling and coordination development of urbanization were analyzed using spatial analysis tools. The results indicate that there are significant differences in the development indices of urbanization subsystems in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, among which the economic and social development indices have the greatest differences, and the ecological development index has the smallest. The comprehensive urbanization index shows a core–periphery distribution pattern, in which Beijing and Tianjin have the highest values, the cities in middle-southern Hebei Province generally have lower values, and the cities in northern Hebei Province have the lowest values. The coupling coordination level of urbanization in the Beijing–Tianjin–Tangshan region and Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, is high, and the difference is small. In contrast, in middle-southern and northern Hebei Province, the coupling coordination degree of urbanization is generally low, and the difference is large. Based on the current situation of urbanization in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, policy suggestions are proposed from the perspectives of strengthening the market mechanism of urbanization, adjusting the regional industrial structure and attaching importance to the coupled and coordinated development of urbanization.

Road freight transportation (RFT) has received significant attention from the government, industry, and academia because of its high energy consumption and carbon emissions. To reduce the negative effects of the accelerating use of RFT, China has recently been committed to promote green RFT. Efforts made in this direction have mainly focused on supply-side policy and technical measures, while neglecting the importance of demand-side psychological and behavioral strategies. Recent research suggests that drivers play a fundamental role in generating environmental impacts during transport. Thus, the success of green RFT should also be based on a thorough understanding of the drivers’ environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior. In this study, we investigate the current levels of environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior among China’s RFT drivers, and explore the role of environmental awareness as defined by four main components—environmental concern, environmental attitude, environmental knowledge, and behavioral intention—in motivating pro-environmental RFT behavior. We also test the moderating effect of perceived policy effectiveness on the awareness–behavior relationship. Hypotheses are examined using a sample of 243 truck drivers with structural equation modeling and hierarchical regression analysis. The results indicate the existence of an environmental awareness–behavior gap. We determine that the awareness score (3.2) is higher than the behavior score (3.1) because barriers to pro-environmental behavior are stronger than motivators. We also find that environmental concern, attitude, and knowledge indirectly affect pro-environmental behavior via behavioral intention. Moreover, a high level of perceived policy effectiveness facilitates the transformation of awareness into behavior, bridging the awareness–behavior gap. Our study confirms the importance of environmental awareness and effective incentive policies in encouraging pro-environmental RFT behavior. The conclusions will aid researchers’ understanding of drivers’ environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior in China’s RFT, and compel transport policy makers and managers to implement more effective measures that promote environmentally sustainable RFT.

In order to protect cultivated land and balance farmers’ needs and shortage of land, the Chinese government introduced policies to rearrange land use in rural areas. However, many problems, such as unused rural construction land and illegally occupied land, have occurred through implementing land use policies. Rural construction land transformation has been promoted to solve these problems. This transformation was designed to let farmers voluntarily transforming their idle rural construction land. Then, local government could rearrange village layout for developing cultivation, industry and green space. Therefore, in order to analyze the factors that influenced farmers’ decision-making behavior in rural construction land transformation, household surveys were conducted in four typical villages in Jizhou District. After using the Probit model to analyze the data, the results indicated that the willingness to settle in the city, the mode of housing resettlement, the mode of compensation, the rationality of the measurement standards, and the annual total household income positively affected the willingness of farmers to transform their rural construction land. The strong willingness to settle in the city dominated the other factors. Moreover, the age and amount of construction land, the method of construction land acquisition, and the amount of cultivated land negatively affected the decision-making behavior during the transformation of rural construction land. Based on the influencing factors, policy suggestions are proposed from the perspectives of establishing an orderly transformation mechanism, implementing priority transformation, and providing compensation for transforming rural construction land.
