Wang Xiangyu, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at China University of Mining and Technology, received his Bachelor’s degree in 2002, Master’s degree in 2005, and Ph.D. in 2008, all in Mining Engineering from the same university. He has been serving on the faculty since 2008. His research and teaching focus on stability control theory and technology for surrounding rock in coal mine roadways, including dynamic load-induced weakening of roof strata, controlled pressure relief in deep roadways, and stability management of surrounding rock in gob-side entry retaining.
In recent years, he has led three projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one international conference project, and two sub-projects under the National Key R&D Program of China, in addition to over 50 enterprise-sponsored research initiatives. His research outcomes have been recognized with one first-class prize and more than 10 second- and third-class prizes for scientific and technological progress at the provincial and ministerial levels. He has published over 60 SCI/EI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author, authored two monographs, and been granted more than 50 invention patents.
He serves as a Guest Editor for Sustainability and as a reviewer for several domestic and international journals, including Journal of Mining & Safety Engineering, Journal of China University of Mining & Technology, Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, Energy Sources, and The Royal Society.
