Prof. Agnieszka Sirko, PhD, DSc, is a professor at the Laboratory of Plant Protein Homeostasis, Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences.Her team studies the role of selective protein degradation in response to abiotic stress in plants, particularly that linked to sulfur deficiency. One of the team’s achievements is showing that the Joka2/NBR1 protein is a selective autophagy receptor in tobacco.
