Valeria Pietropaolo is a professor in the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases at “Sapienza” University, Rome, Italy. Since 1990, she has been included as one of the main participants in different research programs funded by various organizations and since 2001, she has been the scientific director of numerous research programs. From 1991 to today, she has worked within the Hospital Convention (Policlinico Umberto I), holding the position of first-level Manager at the UOC of Microbiology and Virology—within the Hospital Agreement (Policlinico Umberto I). Currently, her teaching activity is mainly teaching Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology for the Degree Course in Medicine and Dentistry and Microbiology Techniques for the Degree Course in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques. She has 123 publications with 2031 citations and an h-index of 24 (Scopus, 18 October 2023).
