Antonello Rizzi is a Full Professor at the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, Sapienza University of Rome, where he leads the Computational Intelligence Laboratory. His research interests include Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Granular Computing, and modern Artificial Intelligence systems, with applications to the modeling and control of complex systems. He is an IEEE Fellow and the author of more than 230 scientific publications in international journals and conference proceedings. His current research focuses on Multi Agent Granular Modelling, Complex Systems modelling techniques, intelligent energy management systems, algorithms for electrochemical battery modeling, explainable AI, and the epistemological foundations of Artificial Intelligence. He has also contributed to research in bioinformatics, multimedia content analysis, and Large Language Models from a complex systems perspective.
